The Eight PUMA States
November 12, 2008 by Will Bower · 3 Comments

There are eight states which John McCain would not have won if the Democrats voting for him had instead voted for Barack Obama.
These states are:
Missouri
Montana
Georgia
South Dakota
Arizona
West Virginia
Kentucky
Louisiana
This represents a total of 64 Electoral votes.
As it stands, the Electoral count is 364/174, Obama.
Had it not been for Democrats voting for McCain, this count would have been 428/110.
The PUMA voting block may not have prevented an Obama presidency, but it *did* prevent Obama from having a Reaganesque win… and thus, with it, his attempt to garner the mantle of being the Democrat’s Ronald Reagan.
And — lest anyone think that these are states which could not have been won by a Democrat anyways — all of these states (with the exception of South Dakota) were won by Bill Clinton in either 1992 or 1996… or both.
Missouri (Clinton 92/96)
Montana (Clinton 92)
Georgia (Clinton 92)
Arizona (Clinton 96)
West Virginia (Clinton 92/96)
Kentucky (Clinton 92/96)
Louisiana (Clinton 92/96)
Transition time for PUMA…

Fellow PUMAs,
As PUMAs we did all we could to ensure that Barack Obama did not emerge victorious. Yet and still, despite our VERY BEST efforts he won with a majority of not only the popular vote, but also the electoral college vote, something no other President from the Democratic Party has been able to achieve in recent memory.
At this point in time, we must realize that the battle for the White House is OVER, and the new battle to ensure our country moves back to a true democracy begins. While many of us shall never respect the proccess which brought Barack Obama to office, we must respect the office which he now holds, and realize the ONLY thing that matters is what he does as President. We cannot and should not allow ourselves to descend to the levels of depravity the left wing of the Democratic Party descended to when it took on Hillary Clinton, John McCain and Sarah Palin.
So as we sit back , take stock and plan our next course of action, let us do in the spirit of putting “Country First”…
Rock On,

The Power of P.U.M.A On Display at the Polls in Florida…
October 31, 2008 by PUMA Pundit · 31 Comments
99% of Democrats support Obama right? Wrong. Take a look at this snippet coming out of Florida:
Democrats are beaming that their party is outperforming the Republicans in early voting, releasing numbers Wednesday that show registrants of their party ahead 54 percent to 30 percent among the 1.4 million voters who have gone to the polls early.
but guess what the same article goes on to state?
A Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll gave McCain a 49-45 lead over Democrat Barack Obama among Floridians who have already voted.
So Obama has a 6.4% advantage in turnout , yet is losing by 4%. Who could these democrats who are not voting for Obama possibly be?
Hmmm. Does the word “PUMA” ring a bell?e
If I say “PUMA” you say “Pounce”… PUMA… Pounce… PUMA… Pounce!

Obama’s Speechwriter Boldly Declares She’s a P.U.M.A!
October 29, 2008 by PUMA Pundit · 17 Comments
We told you PUMAs are everywhere. It seems one of Barack Obama’s speechwriters is a PUMA…
Aha… Excerpts from her “coming out” article at TheDailyBeast
A speechwriter for Obama, Edwards, and Clinton on why she’s voting McCain.
Since I started writing speeches more than ten years ago, I have always believed in the Democratic Party. Not anymore. Not after the election of 2008. This transformation has been swift and complete and since I’m a woman writing in the election of 2008, “very emotional
When we first met, Obama and I had a nice conversation about speeches and writing, and at the end of the meeting I handed him a pocket-sized bottle of Grey Poupon mustard so he wouldn’t have to ask staff if it was okay to put it on his hamburger. At the bottom of the bottle was the logo for “The South Beach Diet” and he snapped, “Oh so you read People magazine.” He seemed to think that I was commenting on his bathing suit picture.
I helped with his announcement speech and others. I worked in the Senate when he was in D.C. One day after a hearing on Darfur, we were walking back to the office. I was still hobbling from a very bad ankle injury and in a very kind and gentle way he offered his arm when we approached the stairs. But later in debate preps and phone conversations and meetings, I realized that I had made a mistake. I didn’t belong. No matter how hard I tried, my heart wasn’t in it anymore.
This drift started on a personal level with the fall of former Senator John Edwards. It got stronger during the Democratic National Convention when I counted the substantive mentions of poverty on one hand and a whole bunch of bad canned partisan lines against Senator John McCain. Some faith was lifted after Senator Hillary Clinton’s grace during a difficult hour. But that faith was dashed when I saw that someone had raided the Caligula set and planted the old columns at Invesco Field.
The final straw came the other week when Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher (a.k.a Joe the Plumber) asked a question about higher taxes for small businesses. Instead of celebrating his aspirations, they were mocked. He wasn’t “a real plumber,” and “They’re fighting for Joe the Hedge-Fund manager,” and the patronizing, “I’ve got nothing but love for Joe the Plumber.”
As the nation slouches toward disaster, the level of political discourse is unworthy of this moment in history. We have Republicans raising Ayers and Democrats fostering ageism with “erratic” and jokes about Depends. Sexism. Racism. Ageism and maybe some Socialism have all made their ugly cameos in election 2008. It’s not inspiring. Perhaps this is why I found the initial mocking of Joe so offensive and I realized an old line applied: “I didn’t leave the Democratic Party; the Democratic Party left me.”
The party I believed in wouldn’t look down on working people under any circumstance. And Joe the Plumber is right. This is the absolutely worst time to raise taxes on anyone: the rich, the middle class, the poor, small businesses and corporations.
Governor Palin and I don’t agree on a lot of things, mostly social issues. But I have grown to appreciate the Governor. I was one of those initial skeptics and would laugh at the pictures. Not anymore. When someone takes on a corrupt political machine and a sitting governor, that is not done by someone with a low I.Q. or a moral core made of tissue paper. When someone fights her way to get scholarships and work her way through college even in a jagged line, that shows determination and humility you can’t learn from reading Reinhold Niebuhr. When a mother brings her son with special needs onto the national stage with love, honesty, and pride, that gives hope to families like mine as my older brother lives with a mental disability. And when someone can sit on a stage during the Sarah Palin rap on Saturday Night Live, put her hands in the air and watch someone in a moose costume get shot—that’s a sign of both humor and humanity.
I can no longer justify what this party has done and can’t dismiss the treatment of women and working people as just part of the new kind of politics. It’s wrong and someone has to say that. And also say that the Democratic Party’s talking points—that Senator John McCain is just four more years of the same and that he’s President Bush—are now just hooker lines that fit a very effective and perhaps wave-winning political argument…doesn’t mean they’re true. After all, he is the only one who’s worked in a bipartisan way on big challenges.
When people say how excited they are about this election, I can now say, “Maybe for you. But I lost my home.”
The PUMA Vote… Wait, there are only 12 PUMAs in the Nation… Right… Right…

So far, so good. I like what I see, and I see what I like, let’s take a look at two interesting developments:
California has begun early voting already as well as mail-in balloting. The number of people who have gone in to vote in person has been extensive. The results so far prove what we had always suspected. The polls are being proven as totally unreliable. Although the results of early balloting have not been disclosed,of course, how many Republicans and how many Democrats have voted has been revealed.
The results are simply shocking. The polls showed Barack Obama with an 18 point lead in California just a few days ago. The results thus far are the complete opposite. In the most liberal state in the entire country, the results are that 99,000 Republicans have voted and 96,000 Democrats voted. In the mail-in balloting the results so far are that 9,000 Democrats sent in their ballots and that 5,000 Republicans did so. So with nearly 210,000 people having voted, the Democrats have only a 1,000 vote advantage!
Obamabots, sorry to dissapoint you, but a minimum of 1 in 4 Democrats, and as many as 2 in 4 will NOT be voting for Barack Obama… Remember, PUMAs are silent but extremely deadly.
So in Cali the real number is closer to 115,000 votes for McCain/Palin:90k from the GOP base and 25k of the Democrats (10% of the registered Republicans may not vote for that ticket), and about 90,000 for Obama/Biden (assuming a HIGHLY unlikely 50% of the 10% of the registered Republicans vote for that ticket).
Having said that, let’s look at the other piece of extremely interesting news:
All the hype in Ohio was pure fantasy when it came to Obama getting out the vote with this massive wave, which turned out to be barely a ripple.
Second, Gallup came out with poll numbers showing the amount of early voters between Obama and McCain show no huge wave for Obama, but actually a dead even race. Even though Gallup’s own national poll models showed a huge lead for Obama, it was not showing up in the early voting.
Ha! Of those who do vote for Obama… The GOP base is bound to deliver for McCain/Palin, Independents are bound to deliver for McCain/Palin and of course, PUMAs are bound to deliver for McCain/Palin…
So, if you haven’t voted already, please do so ASAP, now or on election day… Don’t give up, Comrade Obama will not win this election if you vote!

This PUMA “PROUDLY” Endorses the McCain/Palin Ticket…
October 21, 2008 by PUMA Pundit · 36 Comments
Ever since Hillary Clinton was thrown out of the race, I have been an undecided voter. I wasn’t going to reward Barack Obama and the DNC with my vote, so I had a few other choices:
1) Simply not cast a vote for President
2) Write Hillary Clinton in
3) Vote for a third party candidate, Cynthia McKinney/Rosa Clemente of the Green Party came to mind
4) Vote for McCain/Palin
Ultimately, after months of deliberation and careful consideration, I decided to use my vote in the best way possible, and that is to vote for the McCain/Palin ticket.
Why did I choose McCain/Palin?
Well, here’s why:
In John McCain we have a true patriot. A man who has time and time again put service to his country ahead of any personal considerations. Whether it was continuing in active duty despite nearly losing his life in the USS Foresstal fire, or refusing an early release from Vietnamese POW camp as a result of his father’s high position in the Navy, John McCain served our country proudly, faithfully and unwaveringly.
Despite what were obvious opportunities to enter the private sector and engage in self service after leaving the Navy in 1981, John McCain chose to dedicate his time and energy to public service.
Even though he has always served as a Republican, John McCain has a track record of being one of the most moderate members of Congress, first as a member of the House, and later on as a member of the US Senate.
Time and time again, when forced to choose between the public good and party interest, John McCain had no qualms in standing with the people, challenging both the GOP Caucus in Congress and a GOP controlled White House in the process if the occasion demanded it.
He did this on the issue of Campaign Finance Reform, Immigration Reform and even in his support of President Clinton’s nominees for the US Supreme Court, Stephen Breyer and Ruth Bader Ginsburg .
If he brings his life experience with him to the White House, I am sure he will make a fantastic President.
Of course supporting McCain for President also means supporting Sarah Palin for VIce-President. This I gladly do for a few reasons, the least of which is that in close to two decades of public service, Sarah has never shied away from taking positions which might not be deemed popular, but which she personally believed in.
While entrenched politicians served their personal interests, Sarah always put accountability, fiscal discipline and the needs of her constituents first. Whether it was cutting down wasteful spending, approving the Alaska Gas Pipeline, or decreasing reliance on earmarks while simultaneously increasing state revenue to $10 billion in 2008, it is no surprise that she has the highest approval rating of any of the nation’s 50 governors.
Lastly, I know that a McCain/Palin administration shall preserve the American way of life, one where the individual and not the government is the fundamental force which drives all endeavor. An administration where wealth is not “spread” around by the state, but given voluntarily by those who have acquired it legally. They shall have an administration where people are not afraid to speak out for fear of being considered “enemies of the President”, and most importantly an administration which respects the most fundamental characteristic of US Democracy, our right to vote, and actually have our votes counted. A McCain/Palin administration shall NOT view elections as commercial affairs where votes can not only be bought, but also manufactured at will, something that Barack Obama and Joe Biden obviously have no qualms with.
Ladies and gentlemen, on November 4th, I intend to PROUDLY cast my vote for John McCain/Sarah Palin, I encourage you to do so too.

An Astroturfing Approach To Catching a P.U.M.A from Team Obama…
September 27, 2008 by PUMA Pundit · 66 Comments
I guess Obama’s energies have been turned to catching P.U.M.As. It amazes me that someone would write such balderdash, but then again, it is Obama and his campaign we are talking about.
This example of astroturfing drivel was published at HuffPo. They feel that as PUMAs we are so foolish, politically naive, and bitter, that tricking us is simply the way to go. Anyway, here are a few excerpts”:
If you’ve been an outspoken Obama supporter from the beginning, it’s time to make amends with Hillary supporters you know. Arguing with, or browbeating them to get on board is counterproductive, but showing you’ve come around to respecting Hillary may ease their hurt enough to do the trick. (Even if you don’t mean it. This is politics.)
Gee whiz, trick us because it is politics? But wait, here is a practical guide on how exactly it is we ought to be tricked:
Eat crow. To get started, memorize this phrase, take a deep breath and say: “Now that I see how unqualified Sarah Palin is, I realize how I misjudged Hillary Clinton. Even Biden said she would have made a great vice president.” Saying you wish she were the presidential nominee may go too far, and you may not be able to get it out. But if the Hillaryite brings it up, don’t argue, and see below
Act empathic. Nod your head in agreement when the subject of Palin or Chris Matthews or Keith Olbermann’s Hillary-bashing commentary is mentioned. Learn these phrases and use them every so often: “I imagine it must be hard.” “It must seem unfair.” “I know, you wanted to see an accomplished woman as president in your lifetime.” “I can understand your being hurt (sad, mad, furious, despondent, livid, resentful, apoplectic, intransigent, inconsolable, red-faced, nauseous, wretched, shit-faced”). Again, do not argue. Just listen.
and it gets better:
Do not praise Obama. I know, this seems ridiculous, but now is not the time in this chain of events. Also, do not praise Michelle or their daughters. If the HRC supporter praises, agree and move on. This is not so much about Obama as it is the closure about Hillary’s run, which remains a wound to some. Take a breath, and move to the next step, which may be the hardest.
and
Praise HRC. Never mention her flaws. Be gracious and do not bring up her vote for the war, or her “dirty campaign.” Do not allude to Bill. Instead, try to find something you can praise with some conviction — some version of “By the end of the campaign I could understand why people were so enthusiastic about Senator Clinton (not “Hillary”). I saw her toughness, her brains, her heart.” “She is gracious and helpful in defeat.” And especially, “Sarah Palin is no Hillary Clinton.” You may have to go back to steps one and two. Nobody said this would be easy.
and of course, a few anti-Sarah Palin points (I wonder why Obamatons are so threatened by Sarah, could the urban legend about a Black Man’s Kryptonite have something to do with it?
Know your Palin political and emotional facts. Emphasize that Palin is against almost everything that Hillary stands for. List these things. Be sure to mention that she called Hillary “a whiner.” Then ask, “Do you really want this undeserving woman to break the glass ceiling before someone as deserving and qualified as Hillary Clinton?”
I wonder if these people realize that even if McCain picked Heather Hunter as his running mate it would still not make us support Obama? The sooner Obamatons realize that this is not about McCain but about Obama’s flawed mandate, the sooner they would come to terms with the futility of their mission.

P.U.M.A-In-Chief Bill Clinton- McCain is acting in good faith in pulling out of the debate…
September 25, 2008 by PUMA Pundit · 21 Comments
When Bill Clinton comes out swinging, he doesn’t hold back.
“I presume he did that in good faith, since I know he wanted - I remember he asked for more debates to go all around the country. And so, I don’t think we ought to overly parse that. Let’s deal with this issue.”
P.U.M.A Power- Obama makes NO inroads with PUMAs in the last 3 months…
September 23, 2008 by PUMA Pundit · 67 Comments
P.U.M.As, whatever it is we are doing, it is working! Check the findings in this AP poll:
Barack Obama’s support from backers of Hillary Rodham Clinton is stuck smack where it was in June, a poll showed Tuesday, a stunning lack of progress that is weakening him with members of the Democratic Party in the close presidential race.
An Associated Press-Yahoo! News poll shows that among adults who backed his rival during their bitter primary campaign, 58 percent now support Obama. That is the same percentage who said so in June, when Clinton ended her bid and urged her backers to line up behind the Democratic senator from Illinois.
and
Clinton backers’ reluctance to support Obama helps explain why he is having a tougher time solidifying partisan supporters than McCain. Overall, 74 percent of Democrats say they will vote for Obama, compared to 87 percent of Republicans behind the Arizona senator. About nine in 10 Clinton supporters are Democrats.
and for the coup de gras
The problem that supporters of Clinton, the New York senator, have with Obama seems to flow from their measure of him as a candidate, not from issues…
Yet they find Obama less likable, honest, experienced and inspiring than Democrats overall do, and have a better view of McCain.
So fellow P.U.M.As let’s keep on fighting the good fight. Remember, even if only 10% of us hold out against Obama, that equals 1.8 million voters, a number which is more than enough to deny Obama the nomination! Incidentally, the 42% who are still holding out, equal 7.2 million PUMA voters, more than the 4.5 million voters (minimum) we pegged ourselves at back in June. I don’t know about you, but when we started this movement we knew we could do it, and to see that we are still doing it is a great feeling.
If all goes as planned and Obama does not win the White House, would he ever be seen in a pair of PUMAs?
For a breakdown on the numbers, Hotair has a great analysis.
For an insight on how AP pretends PUMA does not exist, Sanity Injection has a great article.
Yes we can!
