Hamas attacks Israel…

November 15, 2008 by PUMA Pundit · 1 Comment

It was President-elect Barack Obama who said Hamas has “legitimate claims”, well now that their sympathizer has been elected President, I guess they figure it’s ok to have the audacity to hope that their claims can be pursued:

Tensions between Hamas, the radical Palestinian rulers of Gaza, and Israel increased markedly on Friday after Hamas fired a barrage of rockets into southern Israel, sending 18 Israelis to the hospital with shock and mild injuries.

Hamas officials said the attack was revenge for the deaths over the past 11 days of 11 militants and the recent increased Israeli closure of Gaza crossings. They said that while they wanted to continue the five-month-old truce with Israel, it seemed to them that Israel did not and if that was the case, Israel would pay the consequences.

Israeli officials, who say they have been keeping the crossings into Gaza shut in retaliation for the rockets, thereby greatly decreasing the supply of supplies and fuel, said it was Hamas that was breaking the truce. Senior Israeli officials met in Tel Aviv on Friday and vowed not to back down from any provocation.

Guess who made that “Vote For Obama” call to you last night? A Palestinian in Gaza of Course…

October 29, 2008 by PUMA Pundit · 8 Comments

I am not surprised Palestinians are going ga-ga over Barack Obama. It seems that when not engaged in orchestrating suicide bombings against Israel, they are busy working the phones on Obama’s behalf.

Why do they do this? Maybe because he declared their mortal enemy, Israel to be a perpetrator of  genocide against the Palestinian people…

Maybe it is as a token of appreciation for Barack Obama’s declaration about Hamas and Hezbollah where he stated that “they’re going down a blind alley with violence that weakens their legitimate claims.”

Here is what Hamas’s “legitimate” claim is, as provided in the Hamas Charter:

“Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it.”The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf consecrated for future Moslem generations until Judgement Day. It, or any part of it, should not be squandered: it, or any part of it, should not be given up.”

There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors.”

what about Hezbollah? Well, let’s look at their ideology and objectives:

According to “The Hezbollah Program”, a document that specifies Hezbollah’s ideology, Hezbollah’s main goals are to fight against “western imperialism”, achieve the destruction of Israel, and establish Islamic rule in Jerusalem.

In addition, the party glorifies suicide bombers as martyrs. It promotes violent resistance as a means to an end and teaches that “each of us is a fighting soldier”.

This ideology—which includes anti-Semitic, anti-western and anti-democratic dogma—is indoctrinated in Hezbollah’s schools and kindergartens, which are free for all of Hezbollah’s Shi’a supporters.

Legitimate claims ey? Oooookay…

But enough about why Obama has the love and devotion of Palestinians, let’s look at one such devotee:

Palestinian Ibrahim Abu Jayab, 24, is seen next to his computer, in his family house in Nusayrat refugee camp, central Gaza Strip, Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008. A young Palestinian in a Gaza refugee camp is doing his part to get out the vote for Barack Obama. With a little help from the Internet, 24-year-old Ibrahim Abu Jayab is cold calling random American families from his parent’s home imploring them to vote Obama.

 (AP Photo/Khalil Hamra)

So let me understand this, Barack Obama is outsourcing some of his campaign’s work abroad, to Palestine no less… I am sure that violates a few FEC rules, but doing things by the book has never been Obama’s way, has it?

Game Changer: What Barack Obama Said At the (PLO Terrorist) Rashid Khalidi Appreciation Dinner…

October 29, 2008 by PUMA Pundit · 19 Comments

As you may or may not be aware, the Los Angeles Times has refused to release a video tape they have of a 2003 Dinner in honor of PLO Terrorist Rashid Khalidi, at this dinner Barack Obama made a few remarks.

A PUMA who was in attendance at that event stated that Barack Obama’s talk had two memorable  things which stood out:

Palestine is being occupied illegaly by Israel contrary to God’s will

and

The Israelis are commiting genocide against the Palestinians.

Please be aware that those are not direct quotes, but they come from a PUMA who is active in Chicago academic circles, and is sympathetic to Palestine. This PUMA would have absolutely, positvely no cause to lie or embellish.

Either way, I hope the tape is released within the next 24-48 hours so that the US public can make an informed decision.

How Sarah Palin Won The Debate

October 3, 2008 by PUMA Pundit · 96 Comments

For the first time in my adult life I actually watched a Vice-Presidential debate. For starters, even though as of now I don’t know how I am voting (although I won’t be voting for Obama/Biden) I knew that Palin was not going to disappoint in her delivery or her grasp of the issues. After all was said and done, even formerly critical Peggy Noonan had praise for Palin… As to be expected, the MSM had a whole different take on the issue, unlike Team McCain which unabashedy declared that “She did it

Sarah and Todd Palin after Debate

My initial concern was whether it would be two against one with Gwen Ifill who has a financial stake in an Obama victory, and Joe Biden who distorts reality worse than Pinnochio going like gangbusters against Sarah.

Unfortunately for them, she not only put Obama and Biden in their place as pretentious people who are totally incapable of addressing the concerns of the majority of the American Public, but also showed why she is more than capable of exercising the good grasp of issues necessary to be the Vice-President.

For what it’s worth, Gwen Ifill did a good (not excellent) job moderating, although her bias came through a couple of times. One of those times was during this exchange:

PALIN: …and here’s a shout-out to all those third graders at Gladys Wood Elementary School, you get extra credit for watching the debate.

IFILL: Everybody gets extra credit tonight…

I mean, it might not be a big deal to others, heck, they might not even see it as anything more than a non-issue, but why does Ifill need to steal the little moment of excitement the third graders had? I think the answer is simple, it comes down to the elitist attitude that some in the MSM have about some sort of inherent superiority to folks like Palin, or maybe she was just playign the part of a campaign surrogate for Team Obama.

Anyway, that got me to thinking, while Palin’s family is full of teachers and working people, Biden’s daugther is a menace to society, and his brother and son are currently in court facing allegations of embezzlement. Ever heard of the apple not falling far from the tree?

Overall, I think what really endeared her to me was the fact that she represents who I am as a person. I mean, even though I live in New York City, have a Political Science degree from a liberal arts college in the Midwest (shout out to Butler University), and own a financial services company, I still consider myself more at home on Main Street than I could ever, or would ever feel on Wall Street.

Anyway, Sarah brought back the warm and fuzzy feelings Bill Clinton generated in ‘92 and ‘96 for his folksiness. This is in sharp contrast to Joe Biden who reminded me of quite a few academicians who seem to know everything about the nuance of everything but lack a dollop of common sense. Thankfully, Sarah called him out on his BS numerous times, including when she said the famous:

PALIN: Oh, yeah, it’s so obvious I’m a Washington outsider. And someone just not used to the way you guys operate. Because here you voted for the war and now you oppose the war. You’re one who says, as so many politicians do, I was for it before I was against it or vice- versa. Americans are craving that straight talk and just want to know, hey, if you voted for it, tell us why you voted for it and it was a war resolution.

Talking about Biden, I also noticed that even though he is a lawyer who was “at the top of his class” in law school, and is head of the Senate Judiciary committee, he has no clue as to what the constitutional role of the Vice-President is, as defined by the Constitution:

BIDEN: Vice President Cheney has been the most dangerous vice president we’ve had probably in American history. The idea he doesn’t realize that Article I of the Constitution defines the role of the vice president of the United States, that’s the Executive Branch. He works in the Executive Branch. He should understand that. Everyone should understand that.

And the primary role of the vice president of the United States of America is to support the president of the United States of America, give that president his or her best judgment when sought, and as vice president, to preside over the Senate, only in a time when in fact there’s a tie vote. The Constitution is explicit.

I know I only have a degree in Political Science, and I graduated somewhere in the middle of my class, while Biden is a genius who graduated at the top of his, but, I could have sworn that:

The Constitution states that the Vice President is always the President of the Senate, in Article I, Section 3:

The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided.

Also, what is this story about Dick Cheney Darth Vader being the most dangerous Vice-President in history, I thought that distinction went to Aaron Burr who as a sitting Vice-President killed Alexander Hamilton ? But then again, what do I know?

To me the highlight was when Sarah once and for all ended the whole Obama/Biden strategy of declaring McCain/Palin to be Bush III:

PALIN: Say it ain’t so, Joe, there you go again pointing backwards again. You preferenced your whole comment with the Bush administration. Now doggone it, let’s look ahead and tell Americans what we have to plan to do for them in the future. …

No, in fact, when we talk about the Bush administration, there’s a time, too, when Americans are going to say, “Enough is enough with your ticket,” on constantly looking backwards, and pointing fingers, and doing the blame game. …

But for a ticket that wants to talk about change and looking into the future, there’s just too much finger-pointing backwards to ever make us believe that that’s where you’re going.

What does Biden say as a response? To show how far removed from the thought process of average everyday Americans he is, he quotes Act II Scene I of William Shakespeare’s “Tempest” and says:

Past is prologue

Incidentally, someone ought to send a memo to Joe to stop contradicting Barack Obama, especially not on the national stage, Joe had the following to say about Israel:

BIDEN: Gwen, no one in the United States Senate has been a better friend to Israel than Joe Biden.

Only thing is, here’s what Barack Obama told the Pittsburgh Gazette that:

Obama “The fact is, though, that no one’s been a more stalwart ally of Israel”

So folks which one of you is really Israel’s best friend in the world? I don’t know, but I do know that if your name is Sarah Palin and you choose to speak at a Pro-Israel / Anti-Iran rally, Obama and Biden shall sic the IRS on you.

Gateway Pundit has some pictures from the afterparty, all in all, Sarah did a great job, and whatever fears anyone might have about her readiness or suitability for the Vice-Presidency should have been put to rest… McCain might have taken a gamble, but in all likelihood it is going to pay off…

Exit quote on Barack Obama from Sarah Palin:

Now, Barack Obama had said that all we’re doing in Afghanistan is air-raiding villages and killing civilians. And such a reckless, reckless comment and untrue comment, again, hurts our cause.

Free Speech Obama Style… Disinvite Palin or he’ll sic the IRS on you…

September 20, 2008 by PUMA Pundit · 20 Comments

Yes, we all know that any dissent against The One would not be tolerated, I mean here are a few examples:

Speak against him on the radio, and Obama’s mob shall call the station to shut all the lines down, and genarally disrupt the program.

Disagree with him or his policies or speak freely on why you ought not to vote for him, and his followers have instructions to:

“I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face,”

However, that’s the political thuggery that applies to regular everyday folks. When it comes to folks who have the audacity to give Republican Vice-Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin a forum to speak, he brings out none other than the IRS

Hillary Clinton won’t be speaking at Monday’s anti-Iran rally at the United Nations — and neither will Republican Sarah Palin or any other politicians for that matter.

The groups sponsoring the rally against Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad speaking at the UN were reportedly told, “it could jeopardize their tax exempt status” if they had Palin and not Clinton or Democratic VP candidate Joe Biden on hand.

So all politicians were disinvited, most prominently, Palin.

“It’s an absolute shame that this has happened,” Hikind said. “To threaten organizations … to threaten the Conference of Presidents that if you don’t withdraw the invitation to Gov. Palin we’re going to look into your tax exempt status … that’s McCarthyism.”

“I’m absolutely appalled at the behavior of the Democrats,” said Bob Kunst of Defenders.net. “I’m a Democrat and for the first time in my life I’m going to vote Republican. I can’t take it anymore.”

All I can say is this: Bob Kunst, welcome to P.U.M.A…!
