I think Al Gore is smoking something, and it’s not just cigars… Says North Pole shall vanish within 5 years…

Ok, I love the environment as much as possible, I recycle, use public transport as much as possible, and don’t own a private jet (yet), however, I think Al Gore has gone too far with his “save the planet” mantra…
Planet earth is an evolving object, since none of us have lived in the future, we have no clue as to what it is going to evolve to, however, if what it evolved from is any indicator, then what is happening now is perfectly normal.
I mean even though temperature has been fairly constant over the last 2,000 years, surely it was not the greenhouse effect that caused the Ice Caps to melt over the course of millions of years.
Perhaps Al Gore ought to do some research about the Little Ice Age which lasted for about 400 years, during this time, the New York Harbor froze solid and people could walk from New York City to Staten Island, and Iceland was surrounded by Ice for miles, thereby cutting off all ship traffic.
Anyway, here is Al Gore:

Al Gore- We might go the way of the Mayans…
November 20, 2008 by PUMA Pundit · 2 Comments
Al Gore is a man I actually respect, he had my support in 2000, and I would have voted for him in 2004 if he had chosen to run for office. However, this whole global warming thing of his has left the realm of sanity and crossed into the realm of absurdity.
Check his latest blog posting out:
A new study suggests the Mayan civilization might have collapsed due to environmental disasters:
“‘These models suggest that as ecosystems were destroyed by mismanagement or were transformed by global climatic shifts, the depletion of agricultural and wild foods eventually contributed to the failure of the Maya sociopolitical system,’ writes environmental archaeologist Kitty Emery of the Florida Museum of Natural History in the current Human Ecology journal.”
As we move towards solving the climate crisis, we need to remember the consequences to civilizations that refused to take environmental concerns seriously.
If you haven’t read already read it, take a look at Jared Diamond’s book, Collapse.
I am no expert on the environment, but I think the biggest crisis facing most of the people in the world is economic, not environmental. When people live on less than $1 a day, their biggest concern is putting food in their stomach, and not the effect of pollution on the Andes Mountains…

Al Gore- If you voted for McCain/Palin you are simply NOT intelligent…
November 8, 2008 by PUMA Pundit · 20 Comments
“One of the reasons we were all thrilled Tuesday night is it was pretty obvious this was a collectively intelligent decision.”
So I guess all those who did not vote for Barack Obama (including his running mate, Joe Lieberman) are simply unintelligent? At least that’s what this statement by Al Gore implies.
He made it while talking about global warming and democracy:
The Web has “revolutionized” nearly every aspect of running for US president and delivered an “electrifying redemption” of the founding national principle that all people are created equal, according to Gore.
While at it, someone ought to tell Al that 18 million people who voted for Hillary in the Democratic Primary were NOT created equal to the 18 million who voted for Joseph Stalin Comrade Barack Obama
Al Gore: Obama will restore the dignity of Tomatoes…

Now, don’t get me wrong, Al Gore is generally a likable guy, but it seems his 8 years out of office combined with his previously unofficial, and now official endorsement of Obama have made him a bit looney.
For example, take a look at this line from Al Gore:
If you care about food safety, if you like a T on your BLT, you know that elections matter.
I could be wrong, but last time I checked, irrespective of whether John McCain, Mike Gravel or even Bob Barr is elected, none of them is going to throw federal food safety standards out of the window, or personally ensure that salmonella poisoning never rears its ugly head in America again. Incidentally, BLT stands for Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato.
Another line:
After the last eight years, even our dogs and cats have learned that elections matter.
It’s always good to spout populist rhetoric, but Cats and Dogs? I guess in Al Gore’s mind, electing Obama will ensure that every dog gets a bone, and every cat gets a mouse.
Of course, as we all remember, Al Gore invented the Internet, and he could not pass the opportunity to talk about it (the internet that is
I think we would know this change was coming if a new generation rejected this special interest politics of the past and the big money that fueled it and instead used the Internet to get small donations and unite Americans in a common effort to realize our common destiny.
I guess 2 year olds like Caryln who gave $2,300 to the Obama campaign, used the internet to do so.
Ultimately, it is sad that Al Gore, a person who won the popular vote but lost the Presidency because every vote was NOT counted would support an individual who hopes to become President based on the same undemocratic principles.
