MY questions were answer???? I am confused. Actually I read it twice LOOKING for a point or something of substance.

Bush may have spent WAAAAYY to much money, but Obama quadruples our debt and that will solve everything? Is your premise then, that Bush's problem was that he didn't spend enough?

And you still didn't tell me what country has ever spent it's way into prosperity.

And you keep asking me what socialism is - if you don't know, how do you know Obama's not taking us there?

OK Happy,

I didn't really think you would have an answer. You "have an intolerance for lies", and any inconvenient truths I guess.

MBANDER,

First of all, let me state that I have no anger, just intolerance for lies. It is my sincere belief that honest people can share in a discussion about politics without resorting to lies, deceptions, half-truths, etc. I don't think that's too much to ask.

I enjoy going back and forth you guys. I can understand you have your opinions and I'm glad to share mine. In my last posts, I simply questioned the veracity of certain claims. I have always admitted it when I was wrong. It seems that is not a popular thing to do here!

As for the the alleged transformation of our nation, when exactly did it begin?

What is socialism? What are some of its characteristics? In what ways is America now a socialist country?

What riches did we have? When did we lose them?

What freedoms did we lose? when did we lose them?

Do you consider it "the Obama Plan" now? Win did it begin? Assuming it is the Obama Plan, let's look at the game and its parameters: He was handed a crap sandwich, I won't mention who handed it to him, but you have to realize, that IF the economy were in better shape he would have a different game plan. It is not like he came into office on day one and ran the economy into the ground and then on Day 2 decided to Slash & Burn and borrow. Remember, borrowing from China was already in place. It's pretty odd that you presume that the present circumstances begin Jan. 21st 2009. The POTUS is dealing with a tough cookie in his own way. I won't like everything he does, but I will recognize the choices are tough.

Happy,

You really must change your name - such anger. You are as wrong in your perception of me as you are about Obama. I didn't mean to insult you by calling you "young" - didn't realize that was an offensive term. I have updated my PC handbook to reflect this change. Not even going to respond to any of the rest of your comments in that post - I had to chuckle as you went on and on and proved my point though.

However I do have to say a couple of things here. ACORN has way more corruption problems than just voter registration fraud. They have a very troubling history in a number of issues - but there would be no point in enumerating them because they have Obama's stamp of approval - which is all you need to give them yours. As to them being involved in the census - well since Obama decided to move the census results to his office. . . maybe you can give me the hopey excuse for that - I already recognize the change.

But really what I want to know is why the term "socialism" always upsets you? Obama doesn't have a problem with it - his mentors were socialists, he spent 20 years in a church that believes in socialism, he has appointed socialists, he even at one time joined the The New Party, which was formed by members of the Democratic Socialists for America (and closely allied with ACORN (gasp) and spent 20 years in a church that preaches socialism. And then Newsweek had that famous cover the proclaimed "We are all Socialists Now" Even Pravda published a piece about our rush to socialism. Talk bout denial. This was the biggest reason I didn't want to see him elected and unfortunately he is moving in his socialist policies even faster than I thought possible.

So as to my "gloom and doom" view of things: please find me one country that went from the riches and freedoms we have enjoyed, to socialism and were pleased about it. Give me an example of one country that was able to borrow and spend it's way to prosperity at the level Obama has done. (Never mind trying to find one that has spent like he has - I beleive it is a world record) And please try to do this without telling me I'm just asking this because I hate Obama. And please try to leave Bush out of it - we are past that. This is the Obama plan now.
