As for the vision of the country thing, I for one am glad to see some diversity on the court. Please remember that the Constitution is NOT a perfect document (hence amendments).

As the country evolves (keep in mind this is a relatively young nation) so will our ideals, dreams and aspirations. The country’s identical makeup is constantly changing and no one person can force any type of CHANGE. It will come from the people.

I am relieved to find out you don’t take Media Matters seriously.

That having been said, this appointment means alot – it speaks volumes about Obama and his vision for this country and his feelings about the “constraints” imposed by the Constitution, and redistribution of wealth.

Also, by her own admission, she does not agree with the substance of the oath she will be taking – but hey, why does that matter. After all, we have a tax cheat in charge of the IRS.

Too often people have been willing to say “oh, this doesn’t mean much” and all of a sudden we will find ourselves in a country we no longer recognize. There is very little going on in Washington that “doesn’t mean much”.

More doom and gloom. Please be a realist and understand that in the short term, this nomination (and possible appointment) won’t mean much (by replacing Souter). The pendulum won’t swing left or right for quite awhile.

But the fact remains that Obama claimed he would look for judges who look beyond the law with empathy and he found one who claims to do so. (Can you imagine the outcry if Roberts had said some of the things she has?) Regradless if appointed, she will take an oath swearing she would do no such thing. Imagine the money we will have to spend chiseling the blindfolds off the “Blind Justice” statues.

Because you don’t know what Socialism is, i won’t waste my time. I am not any more or less FREE since Obama became POTUS. As for B\bills being placed on a website, can you please tells us how many bills he has signed so far? HMMMM?

Rewarding big contributors??? Whom are you referring to? Chicago style politics??? Is there a Helliburden in Chicago (pun intended).

Bully the opposition? Please. When you have both chambers and the presidency, you don’t have to bully.

Giant tax increases? Why was this necessary in the first place? Isn’t it true that the previous POTUS had a surplus when he took office?

For all the gloom and doom you predict, it seems the markets are showing some signs of stabilizing. Isn’t that an inconvenient truth for you naysayers?

Healthcare system? When hospitals charge exorbitant rates for aspirin, doctors charge more to cover lawsuits, and pharmaceutical companies are ripping people off left and right, we need changes in the healthcare system. Is it any wonder when Obama started talking about making changes that these entities “devised” a plan where they could cut costs on their own? Why didn’t they think of that before Obama took aim at them?

Mbander, unlike you, I do not take politics personally. I have never thought that any political candidate was “FOR ME” or that his or her campaign was “about me.” Your statement “everything he does is all about him and his power” is quite revealing.
