If you’ve got a question about Politics, Current Events, or Life Stuff, Dr. Davermann’s got the answer.

Q. Dr. Davermann, do you think that gays should be allowed to marry?
A. Are you kidding? I’ve still got doubts about heterosexual marriage.
But seriously, I can’t think of any legal reason why 2 consenting adults who love each other can’t share their lives.
So if gay people want legally recognized civil unions will full benefits, go for it.
But having the government step in to completely REDEFINE what the institution of marriage is and has been for all of mankind just to appease the gay community? Quite a stretch.
It’s like the she-male who gave birth last year and wanted to be known as a man. Clearly it was a woman, but she wanted to be legally recognized as a male. This is the kind of insanity we can expect as every group out there tries to get Uncle Sam to remake reality. Think I can get a ruling in my favor declaring that I’m 6 feet tall? It would certainly help with the ladies.
Q. Don’t you think that the Republican Party is struggling because it’s gone too far to the right?
A. If the Republican Party were as far right as you say it is, then how in the world did John McCain ever manage to win the Republican nomination for President? Please explain to me how Mr. “Reach across the aisles” himself managed to pull off that feat in such a “right” oriented party.
What about him screams “right winger”, exactly? Was it his vote for bailouts? His offer to buy up bad mortgages? His criticisms of Christian Conservatives? His support for Immigration amnesty? His belief in global warming and carbon tax? You see where I’m going with this.
If anything, the party has been undone by going too moderate over the years.
Meanwhile our President and the Dems are now firmly to the left of the Chinese. No one raises a fuss.
I keep telling myself that no one is crazy enough to believe the opinions that get passed around as news by the liberal media, but I’ve been fooling myself. Admit it, you were watching MSNBC one night and saw Janeane Garofalo go on a rant about those “right wing rednecks” (how tolerant of her). You then said to yourself “even though she sucks as an actress, comedian, writer, etc…political commentary is definitely her niche”. Am I right?
Q. How dumb is Howard Dean?
A. well, there was the “I have a scream speech”.
Kinda dumb.
I’ll refer you to his quote on CNBC the other day: “I think we had quite enough capitalism in the last eight years”.
Pretty dumb.
Good to see a liberal finally allow their real thoughts to be revealed on air.
But he’s still an idiot, though. Here’s why:
Capitalism has already proven to be the greatest wealth and prosperity creator in the history of the world. I’d rather be a poor American than a poor Zimbabwean, that’s for sure. Or a poor Cambodian. You can be “poor” here in America with a car, an ipod, tv, computer, internet access, designer clothing, and even a Bachelors degree. I’ve heard “poor” people complain about paying their MORTGAGE! Must be a nice problem to have.
What liberals fail to realize is that free markets are only the tip of the iceberg; they help create free countries- the kinds that have those rights we take for granted right here in the U.S.
The kinds of rights you don’t get anywhere else where the government controls everything. Freedom of Speech is one. Have you seen what Castro does to dissidents? The right to assemble is another. In China they call out tanks to handle protesters. Tanks. Think you’re protected from unreasonable search and seizure in Iran?
Yeah, he’s really dumb.
Q. Is it me, or did the President actually admit that torture worked?
A. Indeed he did. Funny how little press it got.
Of course he issued one of those classic non-denial denials.
I would post it here but in typical Obama fashion, it’s about 4 paragraphs long, suffice it so say that it sums up as “It got us valuable information but I still don’t like it”.
Really? Well I feel better now knowing that we’ll be babysitting terror suspects from now on just to please him. But how will we obtain information, you ask? Has he even figured out what to do with the Gitmo detainees, you wonder? I wouldn’t worry about any of it. Obama has never allowed facts to cloud the issues and distract from his message.
And before I forget, he also has upheld Extraordinary Rendition. Contradictory? Sure, in any other case where one comes down against enhanced interrogation. But in Obama’s? It just proves how “complex and nuanced” he is. Barf.
Is he even focusing on pacifying real threats? In only 3 months he’s targeted our troops, the CIA, and about 41% of the American population. Had Bush done any of that he’d be a treasonous tyrant for certain, but Obama does it and it’s a sign of his ability to multitask.
I’d say more about this subject but I have a feeling that the van currently sitting outside my house doesn’t really belong to a plumber.
Q. Why is it always about tax cuts and making the rich richer with you Republicans? Maybe if you had some new and fresh ideas people would actually listen to you.
A. So you consider tax increases, spending, borrowing, debt and entitlements “new” and “fresh” ideas? In what century? Those are the same old ideas that have brought down and/or bankrupted many a nation.
Can you even think of one country that has ever benefited from implementing this strategy? Last I checked the places that still applied these “new” ideas were all hit even harder than we were in this current recession-whose root cause, by the way, was government intervention in the home loan markets. Maybe the government shouldn’t do us any more favors.
And what’s wrong with taking the money out of the central authority’s hands and giving it back to the wealth producers and job creators? Putting it back in the hands of the people the government takes it from? Afraid we wouldn’t be able to run up annual 1.2 TRILLION dollar deficits over a decade like Obama? Heaven forbid. And how are both the Omnibus and Porkulus bills coming along? Or the bank and auto bailouts? His quadrupling of the deficit? Sounds like money well spent to me.
Perhaps when half of your salary is tied up in paying down the INTEREST alone on our national debt for all of this nonsense you might still think we haven’t spent enough. But I suspect you’ll be begging for those same old Republican ideas.
Q. Arlen Specter is screwed, isn’t he?
A. Yup. And by his “new” party at that! Seems as if the Democrats stripped him of his seniority and committee assignments, and are now running candidates against him in their primary. D’oh!
Looks like they don’t trust him. Would you?
No party throws their people under the bus like the Dems do. Whether its gay people attacking blacks in California over prop 8, Dodd blaming Geithner for the AIG bonus fiasco, or Obama scapegoating the same wall street firms who gave him millions AND supplied his economic advisors, they will bury you whenever the you know what hits the fan. Sometimes before that.
Maybe Specter can go Independent.
Any more “Moderate” Republicans care to jump ship now?
No?
