Q. So what grade would you give the President on a scale from A – F after his first 100 days in office?

A. I’d give him a Q.
The awful cabinet picks, the torture memos, the gaffes on the international stage, bowing to monarchs and then lying about it, getting intimidated by everyone from Russia to Nicaragua, the apologies, the AIG fiasco, holding banks and car companies hostage, Joe Biden, Rush Limbaugh, the crippling budget deficits, the spending proposals, cap and trade, forcing legislation through Congress, trying to backdoor his vague (but expensive) health care plan without any deliberation, the targeting of our troops on 2 separate occasions, the targeting of conservative Americans as terror threats, scaring the hell out of NYC for a photo opp, the hypocricy, and there are plenty more that escape me. It’s been tough to watch.
But he gets a pass for the following reasons
1- the press are still in the tank for him. They underreport his gaffes, use complementary language even when describing his blunders, ignore any protests against him, are lukewarm in their criticisms for even his biggest mistakes, offer up significant praise when he manages to avoid doing something stupid, and expend more effort trying to vilify republicans.
2- Republicans have not been able to mobilize effectively during his struggles and don’t have a strong visionary, leader. Face it, without any credible opposition, people will continue to settle for what they’re getting. One thing Obama does QUITE well is campaign-which is why he hasn’t stopped yet.
3- People’s hopes are riding high and they have too much invested in him, so the prevailing attitude seems to be “let’s support him anyway and hope for the best”. Didn’t Custer’s men say that?
4- In all fairness, he did inherit a mess. Of course it was his choice to take the job, he’s making things worse, ans he’s using the crisis specifically to push through his own agenda, but it’ll take some time to sort out where the Bush failures end and the Obama ones begin.
Keep in mind that if anyone else stunk it up this badly in their first 100 days, we’d be calling them incompetent by now.
Q. Specter really messed things up, didn’t he?
A. He had no choice. The guy was projected to lose his own primary by over 20 points. Besides, he was doing more damage voting with the President on every issue than actually voting w. the party.
I welcome having moderates in the party. In fact I’m center-right myself. But there is a big difference between taking a moderate stance on issues and VOTING TO PUSH THE OPPOSITION’S AGENDA ENTIRELY, which is a nasty habit that RINOs such as specter have. People like Specter and McCain spend so much time “reaching across the aisles” they end up on the other side of them. Do you see the President reaching? Do you see any Dems reaching? (Aside from the 15 who voted against the stimulus, which makes Specter’s decision at the time even MORE suspect.). We just had 8 years of reaching and look where that got us. I won’t tolerate another day.
Q. What did you think Of Obama’s 100 days prime time press conference?
A. I think maybe Dwyane Wade should have went to the hole more. The Hawks shut down the paint completely and the Heat had no answer. Gotta come stronger than that, D-Wade. Also, “Lie to me” isn’t half bad.
Q. Why is it that men in their 40’s like much younger women, but younger men like women in their 40’s?….is this another joke nature plays?
A. It would appear so. As men get older, and presumably more successful, the younger chicks, fueled by their love of money and status, come flocking. Older men are also more likely to settle down, whereas the young ones play the field. Most single women in their 20s are looking for relationships anyway, and the older guys need trophy chicks to show the world they’ve still got it so it’s a pretty convenient arrangement. Besides, once we’re older, the cougars go flocking to the younger dudes anyway. I think nature got that one right.
As a younger man I can tell you that I love cougars. Think about it, I’m at the height of my peak, they’re at the height of theirs…they’ve done some living and the kids are out the house so they’re able to loosen up and be more spontaneous (everywhere!), they know what they like-and what they want, they’re not easily impressed by machismo or money, and if they have kids already they know just how nurturing and supportive of you to be. It’s a perfect arrangement. I prefer recently divorced 40 yr. olds myself because they only want you for one thing. I could never understand why women hate being used for only one thing. When I’m the one being used, I end up having the time of my life.
Q. What do you think the Republican Party needs to do to be relevant again
A. I think the reports of our demise have been greatly exaggerated.
Americans didn’t turn away from Republicans because of what they were
They turned away because of what they weren’t. When you look at the identity crisis the party had under Bush…increased entitlement and welfare spending, billions to Africa for Aids, bigger government, trillion dollar drug benefits for seniors, ethanol subsidies to farmers, No Child Left Behind, guest worker immigrant proposals, wall street bailouts…We were about as conservative as Sweden.
Where was all the real Conservatism?? It only appeared when it was time to talk about abortion, embryonic stem cell research, guns, war, and gay marriage. However, the pocketbook issues that most Americans vote on, the slice of life day to day issues; those were nowhere in sight. Bring them back and you’ll get Americans back.
Despite what Homeland Security thinks, there is nothing wrong with having Conservative values, but you have to be consistent in applying them. Most Americans have them, and when Conservatives run on principle, they win. When they try to kowtow to the liberal media and the other side, they lose, and lose badly. Who the hell loves taxes? We get taxed on EVERYTHING….income, payroll, purchases, investments…even DEATH!!!! Lliberals know the government does a horrible job spending other people’s money-it’s why they avoid paying taxes every chance they get.
Who wants a defenseless country? Who hates freedom? Our Constitution? Who honestly thinks spending a few trillion will magically turn bad decision makers into good ones? Who sees the government as a wealth generator/creator? Even the most ardent Marxist won’t ever tell you that.
When Bill Clinton is the most Conservative President we’ve had over the past 20 years, it’s time to rethink things.
Q. One would think you make over 250k a year the way you rail against our president. Why don’t you give him a chance instead?
A. You think only those making 250k yr are getting their taxes increased?
Really? you don’t think Cap and Trade is a tax? You don’t think an extra 4 grand annually in energy bills will affect the lower and middle classes?
What about the HUGE tax they just placed on cigarettes. You think most smokers earn 250k a yr? most earn BELOW 50k.
What about being unable to deduct your mortgage payments and charitable donations from your taxes? You think the 250k crowd are the only homeowners out there? the only charitable people out there?
What about having your medical benefits taxed? You think that will only hurt the 250k crowd?
What about ensuing higher interest rates from all this borrowing and spending? Is that
Sending the 250k crowd ducking for cover?
What about capital gains taxes? There’s some 100 million Americans who invest their money.
You think they all make 250k?
What about when inflation goes up?
What happens when the rich decide to start “cutting back” on investments and expansions?
What happens when small business owners do the same?
I can’t believe 100 days into his Presidency you’re still clinging to his campaign rhetoric from October 08
What the heck was in that Kool Aid anyway?
Q how dumb is Joe Biden?
A. This has to be a trick question, but I’ll answer it anyway. EXTREMELY. After the panic that the NY photo op flyover caused, you’d think someone would have thought to muzzle Biden until the fallout subsided. Instead, 3 days later, he initiates a swine flu scare by warning his family on national television not to take subways, planes, or public transportation-going against exactly what public health officials and the president himself have been advising. I couldn’t make this stuff up if I tried.
I still can’t believe these are all supposed to be the smartest guys in the room. It reminds me of the 2004 elections when everyone was saying John Kerry would be the “intelligent alternative” to Bush. That is, until his transcripts got released. Turns out he had EVEN LOWER GRADES than ole Dubya himself. Looks like liberals have been trying to pass off idiots as intellectuals for quite some time. But I digress.
After only 100 days, I can safely say that the most competent person in Obama’s cabinet is the teleprompter. Incidentally, he’s on facebook. I urge you all to add Barack Obama’s Teleprompter as a friend. I tagged him to this note. You’ll love his witty insights and eloquent writing style.
