If you’ve got a question about Politics, Current Events, or Life Stuff, Dr. Davermann’s got the answer.

Q. So Doc, how dumb does the President think Americans are, anyway?
A. Apparently very. In light of all the TEA parties springing up all over the country, he’s now trying to paint himself as fiscally responsible by announcing, with much fanfare, cutting 100 million dollars…
…from a budget of 3.7 TRILLION. Seriously. Breaking out my trusty calculator I found that this works out to .00027%, or roughly what Joe Biden donates to charity on an annual basis.
Obama is quickly developing a reputation for talking big and delivering small.
Remember his calls for bi partisanship? That consisted of inviting the Republicans over to the White House for the Super Bowl. We all know how that played out.
Or how about his much ballyhooed rules on keeping lobbyists out of his administration? Only took him a week to toss those aside.
His claims that his stimulus bill would allow Caterpillar to rehire the workers they lost? Well they must not have gotten the memo, because they laid off THOUSANDS more.
I realized this is what I dislike most about him, by the way. He makes these grandiose announcements, follows them up with an effort that insults your intelligence, and proceeds to give himself a pat on the back for it. This kind of smug, narcissistic, self congratulatory arrogance is annoying enough when I do it, but to see it from my President is just grating. It doesn’t help that the Obamabots eat it all up, too.
I’m reminded of that Shakespeare quote, the one about “a lot of sound and fury, signifying nothing…”
Q. So how dumb is Janet Napolitano?
A. Very.
Allow me to enter into evidence:
-Her Department’s report targeting OUR OWN TROOPS as terrorist threats
-Her half hearted “apology” that only served to antagonize our troops even further
-That same report categorizing any American with a Conservative viewpoint (or half of the country) a “right wing extremist”
-Her insistence that illegal immigration is not a crime.
-Her theory on the 9/11 bombers sneaking into the U.S. from Canada. Which is not only stupid, but needlessly pissed off Canada, too.
That’s all within the past week, folks.
This Cabinet looks to go down as one of the most incompetent in history.
Between Napolitano, Geithner, and Gibbs… I’ll take Hillary.
Q. Dr. Davermann, who are you supporting in 2012?
A. That’s looking way too far ahead, and anything can happen..Remember, we were supposed to see Hillary vs. Giuliani in the election. So any favorite you have now may as well be dead in the water.
I will give you a list of who I LIKE so far though
1. Mitt Romney. I’ve always been a Romney guy. He’s brilliant, has the Ivy League pedigree that the MSM loves, has successfully ran both a multimillion dollar company and a state government, and has that “regal” look that drives the MSM and liberal elitists into throes of passion. He’s also Conservative enough that he won’t scare off the base, but pragmatic enough in his approach and focus on pocketbook issues to appeal to the center.
2- Michelle Bachmann. Yes, I’m a fan. She just knows her stuff. She’s Palin proof. The MSM will not be able to call her an idiot once the smear campaign starts. She has a finance, education AND social work background (the holy trinity of domestic politics), knows her numbers, dissects Obama’s economic policies and all their inherent weaknesses very well, and is liked by Minnesotans…the same people who elected Al Franken, for Pete’s sake. She’s good money barring any disasters.
File Jindal/Palin under not ready for prime time. Although a very effective governor Jindal blew it w/ the State of the Union response, and has to prove he can shine on the big stage. Palin might be ready, but she needs to get her own house in order first. Her family and staff are both becoming nuisances in the news. We’ve already got one reality tv show in the White House.
On a somewht related note I’m still QUITE bitter over the way my fellow party members refused to give Giuliani a shot!
Q. What did you think of Obama’s South American trip?
A. I found it interesting how these Latin American leaders all sounded like he did in Europe when referring to America.. Kinda weird when your own President is indistinguishable in his criticisms of our country from those who lead regimes that are “democratically challenged”, to put it politely.
You know, there’s just something strange about having my country browbeaten and talked down to by every crackpot dictator, despotic regime, and 3rd world autocracy in the hemisphere. When countries with a much worse record than you on everything from the environment to human rights line up to blast you for being an oppressor, with tacit approval from your own President, you sort of have to scratch your head and hope that the irony isn’t too subtle.
I’m starting to wonder if we’ll ever see the upside to being “liked” by all of these countries.
Q. Any thoughts on the President’s decision to release the CIA torture memos?
A. I’ll do you one better. I’ll describe specifically what I was thinking with each news release I saw regarding the memos.
“He’s so in over is head he’s starting to make trouble for himself in places where there shouldn’t even be any”
“For all the tough talk I hear from Al Quaeda, their man was giving up names, addresses, and firstborns after only 35 seconds of waterboarding. What a wuss” ( Not that I’m one to talk. I’d give up the launch codes if anyone resembling Salma Hayek just batted their eyelashes at me.)
35 seconds, though? That’s torture? SEALS call that training. Doesn’t anyone watch ‘24′??”
“All of this just to sock it to Bush? The same Bush who never ONCE criticized him? Now he’s completely damaged his relationship with the CIA-and doesn’t know what the hell to do about all the calls from the left for prosecutions. What a tool.”
Hopefully those give you some idea. He’s dug a pretty deep hole for himself with this mess, and it’s another reminder of why it’s such a bad idea to have an inexperienced person in the Big Chair. This thing is starting to grow out of control, and he’s now feeling heat from Cheney, the CIA, ex Bush admin. Officials, the right, the left, MSM and who knows how many other elements. Was this necessary considering all the real issues that come across his desk? This is the guy who would supposedly think things through?
Some more questions to consider: who will now trust us knowing that he’ll reveal anything top secret for political purposes? Will the CIA freeze every time we need them to do their jobs because they’re worried about being investigated? Will other intelligence agencies share secret info with us now? What’s with Geithner’s hairdo? I need answers.
Q. Dr. Davermann, is there anything you’re willing to give the President credit for at this point? I want to make sure you’re being objective when you go on your rants.
A. I think his decision to reach out to Cuba is a great idea. Hell we end up making most of the Cuban population citizens anyway. Castro hasn’t been a significant factor since the Bay of Pigs, and I think it’s high time his people got exposed to free markets and Democracy without having to hop on a makeshift life raft. Long overdue.
I’ll also admit to being intrigued by his attempts to reign in credit card companies, the biggest thieves in our country. They switch interest rates on you, make up the rules as they go along to suit them, recruit 18 yr olds, and all sorts of other unscrupulous things. So I support his efforts there
And there’s also…well that’s it, really. But it’s only been 100 days.
If he gets anything done substantially in either of these areas it’ll be a positive,
But I can’t help but recall that Shakespeare quote
I’m not going to give him credit for following most of Bush’s policies on national security and the wars because he campaigned against them, which was very disingenuous. It actually makes sense he would hold up Bush policy in those areas. I can picture him at the security briefings he gets every day, wondering who could ever be dumb enough to risk being the person who allows an attack because they were unwilling to tap some Jihadist’s phone. Campaign promises be damned.
Q. Dr. Davermann, why should anyone take you seriously when you’re so one sided in your views?
A. Good question. I can respond by saying that’s a question you can easily ask of the President as well, but that would be too easy-and it’s hard to take him seriously as well-especially if you’re a world leader it would seem. I Kid, I kid.
I don’t pretend to be one of those people who identifies as “Independent”, but when you hear their views it’s obvious they’re in the tank for one party or another. I’m talking to you, Meghan McCain!
I am a Libertarian with some Conservative leanings on certain issues. I generally vote Republican. Do I agree with everything Republicans do? No. I’ve been told by some on the right that I’m not conservative enough because I don’t care about gay marriage, and I’ve been told by people on the left that I’m a crazy right wing lunatic because I don’t think “green energy” is worth the cost at this point. I see myself as more center-right, because truth be told, I don’t dislike all liberals, and agree with quite a few of them. Blasphemy, you say? Read on.
You see, there are 4 types of liberals:
1- The Resenters: these are the people who advocate government control over everything simply because they resent anyone more successful than they are. They think if you’re successful, you just got lucky. Hard work, ambition, intelligence, innovative thinking? Mere buzzwords for the suckers playing a sucker’s game. They want government to decide who gets what, so that we all can be as miserable as they are…equally.
2- The Left Wing Nutjobs (LWNJ): These are the Environmentalists, Animal rights people, communists, feminists, terrorist sympathizers, and your assorted run of the mill wackjobs. You can find them at any Starbucks sipping lattes and eating granola, complaining about how awful the U.S. is – even while they reap the benefits of living here. Their pretensiousness knows no bounds. They will complain about the burger you’re having while they wear leather jackets. They will hop into a hummer- to go see “An Inconvenient Truth”. They will denounce and smear the most accomplished, successful, glass ceiling breaking women-if those women do not share their views on abortion. They will try to defend pirates, terrorists, and criminals, depicting them as victims of circumstance, freedom fighters, or those in need- even when those same pirates, terrorists and criminals attack innocent people. They will walk around in their che guevera t-shirts reminiscing about Marx and celebrating people like Daniel Ortega and Fidel Castro -while casually overlooking the human rights abuses that take place in their countries. Not surprisingly, I get into it with this group quite a bit.
3- The Elitists- I hate this group almost as much as the LWNJ: These are the people who come from means, and believe that we need a ruling class of rich and politically powerful people to impose their liberal ideal of society on us. Usually very angry, and hate religion, or simply pay it lip service for show. They also think they’re smarter than everyone else, and their condescension is only matched by their narcissicm. If you’re poor or different in ANY way, they will immediately label you a minority unable to accomplish anything on your own. They will stick you and your kind into public housing (which is usually far away from their own secluded neighborhoods), lower the standards for your education, expectations, lifestyle, and even your behavior(!) in order to “give you a hand”. They will tell you what causes to support because they “know what’s best”. These people are really only interested in 2 things…exploiting you so that they remain in power, and feeding their own ego’s need to “take care of those who don’t know enough to decide for themselves”. In my opinion, these people are the most racist, most culturally insensitive, class conscious people out there. Beware of anyone who makes it a point to tell you what to think or believe because you look a certain way.
4-The Genuine Bleeding Hearts: These are the ones who really can’t bear to see a society made up of winners and losers. It’s just not possible. If you’re an idiot, bad decisionmaker, lazy, unmotivated, or just like to take bad risks, it becomes society’s fault for not having guided you properly, and society’s responsibility to get you back on your feet. They believe that the Government should guarantee you a standard of living with other people’s money, and that those considered “rich” have an obligation to give up larger shares of their income for “the public good”. What they don’t realize is that if you take away all incentives and try to guarantee lifestyles without producing anything, the public “good” becomes the public “bad” very quickly. Notice how none of them were ever in a hurry to move to places like Cuba, The USSR, North Korea, Zimbabwe, China, etc…That’s actually another drawback to having the government control everything…it will inevitably overreach and you can kiss Democracy goodbye at that point. I’ll admit these are very nice people and many of them are my friends. We have respectful debates, we keep the emotion out of our discussions, and are both wired to think pretty close to the center on MOST issues, and don’t make a big deal out of the ones we don’t see eye to eye on. These people are also unusually creative-many of them are funny, like the arts, good books, etc. I think they’re probably the largest group in the realm of liberals, and they’re ok in my book.
So you see, I’m not so terribly one sided.
Note: This is by no means an absolute list, of course . But I play a Dr. on the internet so for now this is hard science, lol.
