Obama is officially started his '12 reelection bid: selling his "stimulus package" in battleground states Florida and Indiana. He thinks he can get those states again in 2012. Why is he not coming to Texas? He knows he will get his behind kicked.

Roza,

As I said I was OUTRAGED at the out of control spending of the past 8 years. That doesn't excuse this bill. I heard Obama speaking today to a townhall meeting in a town with an unemployment rate of 15%. He was telling them that the infrastructure spending in this bill would put them all back to work. Well the infrastructure spending is only 7% of this bill. Too much of this bill is waste and special interest spending. It is deceitful to call it a Stimulus Bill. Ever notice when you hear these clowns talking about it, they never defend or promote any part of it. They just keep chanting about the jobs it will create - even though, outside of the government expansion of programs, the Congressional Offices couldn't say that it would create a single job.

How dare these people scare the American people into advancing their unrelated agenda and paying off their buddies at our expense. This bill is all about them and not about us - except for the fact that they are taking OUR money from US. This has gone on long enough. It is downright criminal.

They need to take their time and get this right. Look at how well the TARP plan went, hey check out what is going on with GM - they rushed that bailout so they wouldn't have to declare bankruptcy and now the gov may force them into bankruptcy to protect the taxpayer's money. Why? Because these guys put the other creditors (JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs) ahead of US if things go south. So we either have them protecting 2 of their huge campaign contributors/lobbyists or they rushed to get a bailout package through with a serious shortcoming.

You mentioned earlier that you were in favor of the $15,000 tax credit for first time home buyers. That came as part of the debate in the Senate. You don't think we could use a little more debate. I have seen some plans that look like they have merit. Why not run those numbers through the Congressional Budget Office - which has already said that this plan won't stimulate the economy and long term is very harmful. Could they not look at their own experts - I mean if fixing the economy was actually the goal here?

This bill is a crap sandwich, and removing a bit of crap and adding a little lettuce doesn't mean it's not still crap.

Glad I was able to catch this before I left. I hope you will respond in the next 2 hours so I can read your response.

My point about the $10,000 tax laibility was just that, a serious question. If 900 billion places a tax liability of $10,000 on each household, what does the current multi-trillion deficit place on each household and why are you not as vocal about that travesty of a deficit. Wasn't being facetious, was asking you a simple honest question because you seem to have done all of the math.

And to clear one more thing up, I think our taxes should be used to support projects on the homefront FIRST. So if that is what you meant by "I know you hate it when we send money overseas to help people." then I'll take that. If we have an embarrasing poverty level at home, and we owe every country that is capable of lending money, and over half of these funds have been used to rebuild other countries, but ours is steadily crumbling and we have no money to feed into it, THAT IS A PROBLEM. It's not rocket science, its just plain ol' common sense. Take care of your home first, and then you can help someone else fix theirs. If we (meaning the American people) are going to do any helping of other countries, I think it should be left up to private outreach organizations that do not receive government funding. That is until we get our house in order.

PS Roza,

Tell the people you are going to help that want to live here to get here right away. The Senate bill stripped out the verification for these infrastructure jobs, so illegals can do them. (I guess these are just more of those jobs Americans won't do) And if they get here quick enough, there will be a $500 check waiting for them. And chances are, for a while they will be in the bottom 40% of people who pay NO taxes. (but still are included in the figure of $10,000/household cost of this bill)
