Roz,

BO is neither optimistic nor realistic..... he is CLUELESS!

The left is already distancing themselves from him.. he was "the One" and they find out he is just a smooth talking politician! PUMA's knew that already and we tried to warn the public... his star is already burring out.. soon he will be just a brown dwarf.

But don't fret.. enough of the American people will catch on before 2012 to hand the highest office to a bright, competent, and accomplished woman....

.. who you ask?....

........you guessed it!

Go Sarah 2012!!!.

"She felt the President of the United States should always be optimistic."

On the contrary, I expect my president to be REALISTIC. OPTIMISM is thinking the Iraq war will turn out positive even though it was doomed from the start. OPTIMISM is thinking that by giving corporations (who by the way didn't manage their own damn money properly) billion dollar bailouts, the economy will somehow fix itself. OPTIMISM is thinking that a President will fix the economy by being OPTIMISTIC.

So I don't think your friend/co-workers fault was in supporting Barack Obama. I think her fault was in thinking she was intelligent enough to support ANYBODY. She is as cluless as my 4 year old if she thinks optimism is the key.

The REALITY is this................WE ARE IN DEEP SHIT! It has nothing to do with ONE person. Our grave digging has been a collective effort, but few people recognize that. It's not solely Bush's fault, nor Obama, nor democrats, nor republicans. This is a US issue, and its serious. If you want to blame somebody blame your neighbors that took those subprime mortgages knowing full well they could not afford them. Or blame the banks that offered them. Or blame congress for their regulation system (or lack there of).

All this talk about Barack Obama using the state of the economy as a "scare tactic" sounds like gradeschool chatter...........stupidity at its best. I would prefer a President that tells me "look it's bad, real bad" and doesn't sugarcoat anything, rather than a President that tells me "We are NOT in a recession" or "The fundamentals of our economy are strong" when I can CLEARLY see shit CRUMBLING AROUND ME!

The problem is that you people don't want things to be as bad as they are. I get that, truly I do, but its just NOT the reality of the situation. I can respect the fact that we have a President elect who says "things are jacked up and here is my plan to fix it". I respect even more the fact that when he proposed his plan and got SO MUCH flack about it yesterday, his response was "bring me your crticisms, and we'll work on this together". AND HE DID JUST THAT. Have you all even read the changes in the proposal? I would guess not. And I go even further to guess that you all were unware of the late meeting that took place to revamp some of the sections after the press conference.

My advice would be to take your heads out of the clouds and if you are so damn distraught about what's going on..............DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, other than hiding your coward asses behind this blog and whinning and complaining. If you want government to be minimized, your first step should be to write to all of the big corporations and tell them to STOP asking for the government to intervene in their MESS. Or go to your local community center or housing projects and talk to people about the importance of being SELF-SUFFICIENT and removing themselves from the welfare system.

Be the change you want to see, and not the coward watching from the sideline.

BTW, we at Aniz, or JEP, or Women on a Mission would LOVE to see more outspoken volunteers at our centers across the US!

Iceman32_89

Obama seems like lost in space after his big win. How he wants to appoint a 39 years old surgeon with no Public Health Service Corps experience to be the Nation's Surgeon General?? Just because he is young and has Indian name and looks? There are many doctors out there with tons of experience and Service Corp ranks and service badges, how can he give that position(equal to a 3 stars admirai) to some one that has never dressed in uniform?

If his economy decisions are like this appoitment, I have no doubts we are going to get worst!

For real, Obama looks like a kid that won the best toy in his town and now don't know how to play with it! Imagine a person that has never run anything in his life, not even a business, a small town or a big household budget is put in charge of the most powerful nation on earth overnight!

I keep my grades: Obama has F in economy. But A + in Marketing and Public Relations.
At least SP is a freakin ELECTED GOVERNOR!

Yep, unfortunately a good portion of the public have bought into this... On a positive note: A co worker of mine who has lived and breathed "The One" for the past few months mentioned to me yesterday that she is disappointed in his attitude and his pessimistic demeanor. She felt the President of the United States should always be optimistic.

I am not sure if his supporters really understood his leftist views and what real Government intervention is all about. The liberals have destroyed what used to be an honorable Democratic party. His agenda goes far beyond anything we have even seen before, and with the media giving up on the "free press" he will have much better results at promoting that agenda than even Carter could have enjoyed. If you continually promote the doom and gloom the American public will be much more open to "change".

In regard to Bush and the spending, I always found it amazing the Democrats chastised him at every corner in front of the cameras for the gullable public to see,but yet are better than anybody when it comes to spending money. I guess they get an A for at least getting away with it.

Do you think that people who are not as politically involved as us will notice the massive government intervention in their lives? I shutter to think what our country will look like in 4 years. We may not be able to undo what is done.
