It seems Obama’s choice for Surgeon General is Sanjay Gupta, the medical doctor who is also a reporter for CNN. I guess folks like the head of the CDC, Dr. Julie Gerberding have nothing to offer…
Oh well, the good news is that William Shatner is going to be named head of NASA and that guy from CSI shall be the new head of the FBI…

President-elect Barack Obama has offered the job of surgeon general to Dr. Sanjay Gupta, the neurosurgeon and correspondent for CNN and CBS, according to two sources with knowledge of the situation.
Gupta has told administration officials that he wants the job, and the final vetting process is under way. He has asked for a few days to figure out the financial and logistical details of moving his family from Atlanta to Washington but is expected to accept the offer.
Celebrities need to stand up for one another, and Obama is definitely helping his celebrity friends out big time…
Oh, BTW, wasn’t CNN dubbed the Obama News Network during the campaign?

I know, it’s awful. For pete’s sake, he’s only a neurosurgeon. What qualifications does he have? What’s next? You know, celebrities like Sonny Bono or Fred Grandy (The Love Boat) know enough to….oh wait….they both served in congress, too.

He’s a certified Medical Investigator.
He serves on the board of the Lance Armstrong LiveStrong Foundation.
He went to the University of Michigan for undergrad studies and earned a Doctorate in Medicine form the University of Michigan Medical Center.
I know – just horrible credentials.

Wow! The board members of CNN must be really happy tonight that one of their part-time, contractual employees got a job offer from the Obama administration. That Obama administration – they really know how to payback their friends! Imagine the corruption – offering the post of Surgeon General to a surgeon. Especially with such lackluster credentials that Dr. Gupta has! God, what are they thinking? I bet the next thing will be offering judicial posts to judges and lawyers!

18 million votes, beating him even when he was almost corfirmed winner, and he gave the VP position to some plagiarist jerk who could not even win caucuses. Is this is not disrespect and arrogance, tell me what is.
About Dr. Gupta, he is so damm young. He is not even commissioned in the Health Corps and now he is going to have the rank of a three stars admiral???
