UAW tries to blackmail Congress like they’ve been blackmailing Detroit…

UAW has a new ad talking about why they deserve a handout:

Reason 1- Millions of people would lose their jobs if they don’t get one.

Reason 2- Wall St. got a handout, so should they.

How about if UAW voluntarily disbanded and allowed management to make decisions that focus on the bottom line instead of a welfare system for those they employ?

I am sure if that were to happen, Detroit would be more competitive as it would not be subject to higher labor costs.

Now that would be a good idea, wouldn’t it?

Though I come from a strong Union family, I personally think Unions have outlived their usefulness, there are enough laws to ensure that all workers have their rights respected, after all, foreign auto makers have shown that a Union is not a pre-requisite for successful manufacturing.

Anyway, here’s the ad:

Incidentally, you know what employing people merely so they can have jobs is called? Socialism.

PS I’ve done my part to keep Detroit going, all the cars I’ve bought have come from GM or Ford.
