Well, hopefully this will convince most people that Obama is NOT pushing any sort of Islamic agenda. Personally, I think Obama’s race has nothing to do with the content of his character, and it irks me majorly when people use that to make a point against him.
Al-Qaida’s No. 2 leader used a racial epithet to insult Barack Obama in a message posted Wednesday, describing the president-elect in demeaning terms that imply he does the bidding of whites.The message appeared chiefly aimed at persuading Muslims and Arabs that Obama does not represent a change in U.S. policies. Ayman al-Zawahri said in the message, which appeared on militant Web sites, that Obama is “the direct opposite of honorable black Americans” like Malcolm X, the 1960s African-American rights leader.
In al-Qaida’s first response to Obama’s victory, al-Zawahri also called the president-elect—along with secretaries of state Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice—”house negroes.”
Speaking in Arabic, al-Zawahri uses the term “abeed al-beit,” which literally translates as “house slaves.” But al-Qaida supplied English subtitles of his speech that included the translation as “house negroes.”
He said Obama’s plan to shift troops to Afghanistan is doomed to failure, because Afghans will resist.
“Be aware that the dogs of Afghanistan have found the flesh of your soldiers to be delicious, so send thousands after thousands to them,” he said.
Al-Zawahri did not threaten specific attacks, but warned Obama that he was “facing a Jihadi (holy war) awakening and renaissance which is shaking the pillars of the entire Islamic world; and this is the fact which you and your government and country refuse to recognize and pretend not to see.”
He said Obama’s victory showed Americans acknowledged that President George W. Bush’s policies were a failure and that the result was an “admission of defeat in Iraq.”
But Obama’s professions of support for Israel during the election campaign “confirmed to the Ummah (Islamic world) that you have chosen a stance of hostility to Islam and Muslims,” al-Zawahri said.

It’s not about race. It is *so* not about race for me or anyone else I know. I feel very confident in making the statement that it is not about race in America anywhere at all. Was there one report of a person saying that he/she wouldn’t vote for Obama because of race? No. What you heard were reports of someone saying that someone else wouldn’t vote for Obama because of race. That’s not good evidence – or even evidence at all.
Then we get to the world’s opinion of our President. One of Obama’s famous gestures may be in order for a response to this one:). I don’t care if they think our President is of African American origin and I don’t think any single American, black or white should care.
Now, is it about race for Al qaida? Well, has anyone noticed that Al Qaida’s claim to fame is hating us ALL? infidels? Yeah, Obama is an infidel as are the vast majority of Americans. They will use racial slurs to try to bring him or us all down or simply get a reaction. It’s the big time, and hopefully he is the calm, confident man that the press says he is. At this level one can’t let such simple words and tricks work at distracting him/her from the real issues..
Now, *they* have a different view of the relationship between black and white Americans than I have and they will try to manipulate that (their perception) as they did on 9/11. They watch too much TV and listen too much to NPR, I think.
America made the biggest mistake in a century when it elected Obama, but it has nothing to do with his race. But, Americans will have to toughen its politically correct skin. I, for one, hope that the worst thing that happens during his administration is a few cheap tricks like this one – but that won’t be the case:(.

Obama will likely take on the policy of Clinton in the 90’s. This will make the rest of the world love us and make the US more prone to attacks by terrorist. Treating an act of war like a common criminal prosecution doesn’t work.

Fara and Carmelo Junior sound very unpatriotic and anti-American by the very nature that they question whether the new president Obama, who was democratically elected by the majority of Americans to represent and protect America’s global interests, has the will and intent to demonstrate strong leadership. What concerns me about your type of thinking is that you really are not faithful Americans as the will of the people has been expressed by the voters. Obama has not taken the oath of office yet, but will you support him once he does as it seems that you are sore losers who just want to undermine his efforts. You know, Bush was given many chances, and in fact, was voted in twice because the people gave him a second chance. Unfortunately, for all of us, he didn’t do well his second term and dropped to very low approval ratings. Would you have preferred to have continued his failed policies by voting in McCain/Palin? Today Al-Qaeda al-Zawhari sent out a video calling Obama a pejorative and making statements that he is too pro-Israeli and he holds Christian values. Clearly Al-Qaeda is trying to bait Obama but he’s not buying it. Obama shows strength by his actions and responses.
You know, what is so ironic about this is that Al-Qaeda doesn’t like Obama for being pro-Israeli and Christian, yet some folks here seem to still think Obama is not pro-Israeli and not a Christian?????

On the other hand, blacks voted for him because he is black, and that clearly helped him a lot. Anyone that votes based on race or sex is an idiot.
This is a major milestone for black America, but it is sort of cute seeing the conservative commentators say this shows there is no racism in America, that it signals we need to end affirmative action.
What is this assumption that Black ppl voted for Obama because he was Black? Black people were overwhelmingly with Hillary at the start of the primary. Many of us (I am Black) were waiting to hear Obama out to see what he was about. In fact the initial supporters of Obama were young people, mostly white young people. Black people were more likely than the larger populace to hear him out first. We wouldn’t vote for any Black person overwhelmingly. Alan Keyes could not have gotten the majority of the national Black vote. Al Sharpton got practically none of the Black vote. So it was not ONLY his race. It was race in part. However, Black people do not all think or believe the same.

The article that you cited is another one where the authore interviewed someone who said that someone else wouldn’t vote for Obama because of his race. He didn’t actually interview anyone who said that he or she voted for Hillary over Obama because of Obama’s race.
That said, you will never eliminate any form of discriminatory thought 100 percent. Sometimes, as I read things about race now, I think that people perhaps never considered the idea that everybody is prejudiced against everybody and the best you can hope for is that there is equality in that prejudice.
BTW, I’ma a southerner living outside of the South (in a very liberal place) and the idea that the South is place of higher degree of prejudice doesn’t hold truth from my experiences.

Sarah Palin is not being vetted for Secretary of State. The SOS is an APPOINTED POSITION! To be a Secretary of State you don’t need executive experience, you don’t need likeability of the voters. You don’t need to campaign all 57 states to be a Secretary of State! You don’t need anything to be Secretary of State, but you should have academic background in political science, foreign languages, history, diplomacy. Hillary only has a law degree, name recognition and a last name. Nothing else! Hillary don’t even know Spanish, the language of 36 millions Hispanics that support her in the USA.
To be president you only have to be a NATURAL BORN US CITIZEN with no citizenship from other NATION. If one of your parents is not US citizen, both of your parents should be at least 21 years old at the time of your birth. You must be at least 35 years old by the time you are sworn in and you must have lived in any of the 50 States for at least 14 years prior to your nomination. Does your Kenyan boy really complies with all these requirements??

FYI the United States Immigration Service has its own system to prove that some one is a bona fide citizen of the US.
Nevertheless, the Constitution does not has the power of a writen law like a Act of Congress, therefore, according to the Constitution, Obama qualifies to be sworn on as the 44th US president, IF and only IF he is de facto natural born US citizen, which there is not tangible evidence that he is. What we have is a alleged “birth certificate” posted on his campaign site that several constitutional lawyers think is bogus. PLUS the stubborn attitude of Obama of not wanting to address this issue and come out clean once and for all is feeding these doubts about wether or not he was born in Hawaii or Kenya.
The Constitution can be ammended. An act of Congress cannot.
