P.U.M.A-In-Chief Bill Clinton- McCain is acting in good faith in pulling out of the debate…

Bill Clinton is exactly right. When McCain asked Obama to delay the debate, Obama’s snarky response was, and I paraphrase, “A president should be able to handle more than one issue at a time.” Yeah, why wasn’t he saying that a few months ago when McCain challenged him to multiple townhall debates?

Obama could have just as easily said, “I agree this isn’t a time for partisanship and political games, but the American people need to see where we stand on this issue and many others, so I would like to proceed with the debate as planned.”

Instead, he took the low road. I hope everyone now realizes who would reach across the aisle for the good of this country and who would look seek political gain during a national crisis.

On the View today Whoppie noted that because John McCain was a leader of the Republicans it was probably more important that he get back to Washington. I’m not sure why she said that but she seemed to not be criticizing him. Iwas surprised. I think she was actually homeless once and understands how important this is.

hillaryc12, she also was the one that thought McCain was going to make her a slave – on National television.

Seriously, the women on the view need to retire.

The reason Obama is snarky and snakey is because he is a lightweight… a marketing campaign.. no substance so he relies on sound bites and strutting around like a rooster in a hen house…. lines up cackling white women behind him at his speeches, blows smoke rings and they go wild… PATHETIC…

One thing Obama isn’t mentioning – this debate is supposed to be about foreign policy NOT the economy – and he has been practicing since Tuesday. Rescheduling it may ruin his “cramming” for the debate.

I for one, believe BOTH candidates need to be there in Washington for reasons I have expressed in other posts. But in fairness to Obama, he does need more campaign time – he has to get to 57 states where McCain only has to do 50.

I have a feeling about something….an epiphany

If you look at Bill Clinton’s comments to the press since his meeting with the OBozo (remember the Obozo sought Bill) there is an interesting and commendable pattern that emerged… Bill has complemented McCain and Palin on numerous occasions…. and has only said the Obozo will win easily but has not talked about the Obozo’s merits as a candidate. That is because he has none but be that as it may that is not my epiphany….

Upon further consideration of that meeting between Bill and the Obozo.. I think the Obozo went begging Bill to help him and I think Bill wagged his finger at him and read him the Riot Act about dissing Hillary… then being a loyal Democrat Bill was willing to go and stand in the front of the cameras with the Obozo and shake hands…. but go back and look at the footage and the pasted nervous grin on the Obozo and the tentative comment about Bill getting involved…. that press moment was not two allies ready to battle…. no passion,….I think upon further consideration that Bill whupped up in the Obozo bigtime in private.

I’m glad he did… makes me feel happy just thinking about it!

This is going back a ways but, if people recall, Bill Clinton’s national “profile” was first raised when he assumed the position of Chairman of the Democratic Leadership Council (DLC).

What is the DLC?

Depends on whom you ask. The left sure didn’t like it. They still don’t.

The Democratic Leadership Council it is an organization originally founded to attempt to redefine the CENTER of the Democratic Party. It was formed in 1985, largely by Al From:

The current Chair of the DLC is Harold E. Ford, Jr., former Tennessee Congressman.

And, part of the DLC leadership and head of the DLC’s “American Dream Initiative” is….. yes, none other than Hillary Rodham Clinton.

When formed, the DLC was blasted by the left wing (now running things) of the Democratic Party as a sell-out. For example, the DLC actually supported school choice, which was a litmus test issue at the time (maybe it still is), along with work-based welfare reform, national service, community policing, and an expanded earned income tax credit.

Just some interesting history?

Maybe.

But, I am not particularly shocked that Bill Clinton is not embracing the Dean/Brazile cabal of loonies running the party. Nor is it surprising that he might be less than enamored with the most liberal Democrat to ever run for President (Barack Obama). And that is quite aside from any hard feelings Clinton might have about how his wife was treated in the primary.

Bill Clinton was not popular with the left wing of his party, just as John McCain is not popular with the right wing of his. It would not be unreasonable to think that both could fit somewhere under the DLC umbrella, though that will never happen. It’s an organization of Democrats so McCain’s not welcome. But, philosophically, the point is valid. They both trend toward the center and not toward the fringes of their parties.

This is an aside and, to be honest, and I have nothing to go on here but pure speculation and instinct, but, while I know that Hillary Clinton wanted the nomination and wanted it badly, and many of wanted if very badly for her, I believe she was genuinely conflicted about the prospect of running against John McCain [though she would have, gladly, and would have won]. I believe she (from her words and from her work with him in the past) has the utmost respect for Senator McCain. What that might have meant in a campaign, I don’t claim to know. But, at the least, I am sure, the campaign would have been run on issues. She’s certainly got some fundamental differences with him on certain issues. But, on a personal level, I do not believe we’d have seen the level of character assassination, distortion and vile, personal attacks that we have in this race to date. That’s speculation, yes, and this is about Bill, not Hillary.

Over on the P.U.M.A. site, they call Bill Clinton (not with his blessing, I might add, but it still fits) PUMA-In-Chief.

If you look at his history and the fact that he began his trek to the White House by taking on his own party and joining with the DLC to seek to move the party toward (not all the way to, only toward) the center, the balanced, statesmanlike way he’s approaching current events should not surprise us at all.

And, not to make this too academic an exercise, yes, there is the matter of payback. I don’t underestimate him in that department, either. One thing you have to give the former POTUS. When his zipper’s not down, the man knows exactly what he’s doing.

IndieDogg – Interesting comment. That is what I liked about President Clinton, he was a moderate. I’m a moderate as well. Can’t stand the lefty’s or the righty’s – to freak’n liberal and conservative for me.

In the NPR Archives there is a speech by Soros, the guy that bankrolled Obama, from 2004 (The National Press Club). It gives some insight to MoveOn.org. Seems that the party split a long time ago. PUMAs are making it public. I fell that I made the right choice not to go along with anybody who thinks disenfranchising voters is acceptable.

Ayers and Al-Mansour appear to have been in contact. Ayers vouched for Obama to Al-Mansour, who then began a law school fund-raising campaign among prominent African-Americans.
Obama’s law degree thus appears to have been financed through the encouragement of persons who had been violent revolutionaries and remain unrepentant to this day, the same unconventional way the purchase of Obama’s Chicago mansion was party financed by an Iraqi billionaire.
Why did Obama get hired as a “summer associate” in 1989 at the law firm which had hired Ayers’ wife, and where Ayers’ father was a prominent friend of the managing partner at Sidley & Austin? The answer is obvious. Ayers was grooming Obama as his future “front.”
Where did Obama get his first and only legal job after Harvard? At a law firm where Tony Rezko was a prominent client and where name partner Judson Miner was a law school classmate of Bernadine Dohrn-Ayers. Yes, the pieces are starting to come together.
Was Obama telling ABC the truth when he said met the Ayers’ at a coffee klatch at the Ayers home in 1995? Ayers had already been working with Obama for seven years; Ayers had appointed Obama to head a $50 million foundation. Did Ayers appoint a stranger? Or a front man? The answer is obvious.
Obama has relentlessly tried to conceal the Ayers/Obama time line, and the ongoing connections between the men. When bits and pieces of the Ayers/Obama relationship have popped up this year, Obama has sought to debunk and deflate each isolated piece of information. No one was able to grasp the big picture.

Yes, that was part of the original “deal” that McCain wanted to get back to Washington to address, and Obama said was not important. Thank God McCain got back there—-from all reports he is the one that is trying to shoot that measure down. He’s also the one leading the charge to make this a “workout”, where we LOAN the money to the companies at a low 2 1/2% interest rate to get them out of their mess, rather than a “bailout” where we would GIVE the money to them. I would much rather loan our hard earned tax dollars than give them away. Go McCain!!!

Obama says it’s the lack of regulation that got us into this mess in the first place, when in fact, it is the socialization of legislation, supported by Obama e.g. through the corrupt ACORN, that got us into this mess.

The government subsidized, legislated, encouraged, supported, and coerced companies to make loans to people that could not afford them. The companies would never have made such loans had they not been supported in doing so by socialist/Obama type legislation, as such practices go totally against sound business principles of loaning money to a good risk in hopes of getting a return on the investment.

The ACORN connection has been very disturbing to me throughout Obama’s campaign, and now this.

It’s not bad enough that there are earmarks added to this bill, but ACORN?? Hasn’t this group stolen enough money (and votes). We all know their history of voter fraud, but they were already sanctioned for misuse of federal housing funds. You are so right One4Justice, they have their hands all over this subprime mess. But wait – HE still believes in them. Obama gave them over $800,000 to organize a “get out the vote” campaign. (Recently corrected on his FEC filing – a simple error on their part, after all some of his staff have had a history of accounting errors)
