I really wish there were a delete button on this system. I should have typed the sad truth...

I also found a very interesting article on Obama work associated with his former law firm. I'll spare you the tedious read and just provide the hyperlink:

The sad trugh WasHRCnowPalin is that the DNC passed up someone that was qualified. For whatever reason - they are pushing this man up the ranks - he has had no qualifications since day one - except hsi law degree.

Did he really practice law or was he just on their payroll. I chatted with one of the paralegals in the lawfirm he was at and she said that he was the most arrogant person she had ever meant. He really looked down on people.

There is absolutely nothing worng voting for a person of color or for gender because they are either... it is human nature to do so.. sometimes for better and sometimes for worse (i.e OJ's first jury).

For me the person must be qualified. Sarah is... Barack is not.

And besides, even if he were qualified he is a sexist and repeatedly demonstrates that.... therefore the choice is clear.

Go Sarah 2008!!!

"Her student said, ” but Ms. R, you’re not white, (she’s blond) you’re a Yankee.”

I can soooo relate to that its not even funny! I mean up until age 4 I thought my mom was black, my sister was black, and me and my dad were orange. :) (yeah go ahead and laugh)

And its because of exactly what you said. Even at 4, I had an idea of what I thought a group of people were, and when I didn't fit in I thought I was something else. Now that I'm older, of course I know better and that brings me to your next question: "Is there a clear definition of what African-American or black is for the purpose of these polls?"

And my answer is, I really don't think there is a clear definition for the simple fact that I truly believe people of two dark colors/ethnicities are all considered black or "African-American".......in this country at least.

And the next question: "Is that not doing what MLK asked not be done? Judge a man by the color of his skin."

And my answer to that is, ABSOLUTELY and I think its so rediculous and dangerous and sad all at the same time. Just about as rediculous as people voting for Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin on the simple qualification that they have vaginas. Not a good look and I'll say like I've always said:

"if you have no idea what is going on with this election and the issues and platforms of the candidates, and you are voting for Barack because he's black and McCain because he has a woman on his side.......please stay home on Nov.4. Do us all a favor.

Now by all means if you have valid reasons for voting or not voting for a candidate, then that's great. But I think voting for race and gender is potentially disastrously (yeah I think I made that up) dangerous.

As far as your comments at the end about Obama, I don't agree, but I respect your opinion.

Ok. Going back to sleep. BTW, this election has become so addictive. I got up to get some juice and end up on her talking to you guys!

Good nite!

Hello Folks: How are you all? as you know I'm running for office. Sparky were you hyped on caffeine when you offered to manage my campaign?...Talking point..Chris Lee has never scored below 90 % in any poll. Roza;: I'm going to try to pick-p where I left off on my race diatribe..I agree with you the Senator Obama is Black in that he has probably endured racial prejudice because of his pigmentation..and to think we have all the little white girls paying good money to lay in some sort of George Forman Grill type thing and risking skin cancer so that they can get a tan. Gotta love this old world.
I'll venture to say that O's life experiences are pretty unique but more influenced by the white culture than the average black man's. Yet 90% of those who are described as African-American are voting for him. Is there a clear definition of what African-American or black is for the purpose of these polls? My guess is that people who identify themselves as black see someone in O that is like them; even if he doesn't really share a lot of their life experiences....Is that not doing what MLK asked not be done? Judge a man by the color of his skin.
My daughter teaches in a southern state in a town that only has one school so all classes and colors are mixed together. She started asking kids about race; one of her black students asked her why all the white teachers yelled at her all the time. . My daughter asked her if she felt she (my daughter) yelled at her. Her student said, " but Ms. R, you're not white, (she's blond) you're a Yankee."
My guess (and its only a guess) is that the child had an idea of white people were and when my daughter didn't fit it, she had to give her a different label.
I have always thought that it a lot easier to hate any group as the 'other' but when you meet individuals within that group you have to make exceptions to your stereotypes; it's partly how our brains organize and learn. Like when we learn our colors from the crayon box..at first red is the color in the crayon box with the label that says "RED"; then someone goes and complicates things by telling you that blood is red too..you have to go and adjust what red is. I never even saw a person of color until I was seven years old and we made a trip to the big city; my three- year-old sister embarrassed my mother by pointing to a very black man in the supermarket and saying, "Look mom, there's a blue man over there."
In the absence of 'color" I was taught to think Jewish and Japanese people were 'bad' ; they killed Jesus and bombed Pearl Harbor. Assuming all people love their children as much as any other people, it seems to me that teaching children to eliminate other people by labeling them in a disparaging way, limits that child's opportunity to experience all that life has to offer. My work is in the medical/social work fields and I have been fortunate to work with all kinds of people. They don't all look alike to me, I judge them(if at all ) on their character. We see it here sometimes when we label each other...I know I had some choice labels for anyone who voted for Bush (and still do). So you see, it takes me really not liking Senator Obama and/or the organization behind him to cross party lines.
Though I couldn't vote for her. I was very excited when Shirley Chisholm was running for President and have one of her campaign buttons . I'm not a racist but I am a feminist. When people come here and call me a racist, I think it is a reflection of Senator's Obama's tactics and a purposeful attempt to keep people from looking deeper into his organization. To me, Senator Obama is encouraging people who may already have idea that white people are......... to not consider the exceptions they hopefully have had in their life. That in itself is divisive and has little in common with hope or change.

Tired again,,,but coming soon to a theater near you... appreciate the conversation..Let's have something good come out of this no matter what happens...Nite
