Rasmussen: Ohio for McCain by 7 Points…

“As Ohio goes, so goes the nation” has been a staple of every presidential race for the last few decades. Well, as of last night, Rasmussen shows that Obama is behind McCain by 7 points in the “Heartland of America”…

Here are a few excerpts from the poll:

The latest numbers, which are the first to be released since the conclusion of both parties’ conventions, mark an improvement for the Republican nominee. In August, McCain had a slightly more modest advantage over the Democrat. In fact, the GOP hopeful has held a modest lead since July in the swing state that finally decided the 2004 election.

McCain is viewed favorably by 63% of Ohio voters and unfavorably by 35%. Obama’s ratings are 50% favorable, 48% unfavorable.

There we go folks… Let’s see how long this trend persists, and more importantly if it widens even more b4 the election proper…

    AD76 (a year in the Roman Empire?, who was emperor?) says “as Ohio goes…”.

    Among an alarming spate of duplicate posts, I offer a fact, and an opinion.

    FACT:
    Being dilligent, I spend 10 seconds looking up the last president who won while losing Ohio. It was JFK, a Democrat, and someone who has many similarities to Obama. Does this fact bother AD76?

    OPINION:
    The collected writings of AD76 sound like someone fully invested in the defeat of Barack Obama. They also embrace every Republican talking point. But of course AD76 must be an alienated Hillary Clinton supporter.

    It is time for a new generation of dynamic and clear thinking women to take the lead on these issues.

    A few decades ago the situation was different and it took a few representative issues to bring attention to the broader problem of inequality… so we had to “fight to highlight the plight”. The Democratic Party offered a platform to work these issues because there were some sincere folks who really cared… but as time went by women began to be looked upon as a voting block… and strategies were developed to appease that voting block… at that time progress on the real mission (to break the glass ceiling and establish a new paradigm for women in this country) slowed down rather dramatically within the Democratic Party.

    And so the Democratic Party elite remain in power because they throw women a few scraps (like abortion rights) and by such limited action believe that women will consider them their advocates and will vote for them… that strategy worked for a few decades but the fallacy was exposed in this election year when the DNC elite selected an unqualified man to sit at the top of the ticket and then that same man diss’d the most qualified person by picking another man as his VP choice!!!

    Nothing could be more obvious than the sexist attitude of Obama and the DNC in general.

    We are grateful that a real man is willing to do what Obama nor the DNC could do… pick a women to shatter that glass ceiling one and for all… a shattering that was heard around the world!!

    Thank you John McCain for standing for women. You have my vote for taking a stand against Obama, the DNC, and the Obamedia.
