Patriotism Obama Style: Let’s dump Old Glory in a Landfill…
September 6, 2008 by PUMA Pundit
Obama’s mentor, the unrepentant domestic terrorist, Bill Ayers had a picture taken where he was stomping on The Flag.

The apple does not fall far from the tree, and it seems his protege, Barack Obama has decided to take things a step further, and throw the 12,000 flags used for his coronation at the Barakopolis in Denver into a landfill.

The Denver post published a report about how the 12,000 flags would have been disposed off as unceremoniously as can be.
This morning, Republicans tell me that a worker at Invesco Field in Denver saved thousands of unused flags from the Democratic National Convention that were headed for the garbage. Guerrilla campaigning. They will use these flags at their own event today in Colorado Springs with John McCain and Sarah Palin.
Before McCain speaks today, veterans will haul these garbage bags filled with flags out onto the stage — with dramatic effect, no doubt — and tell the story.
U.S Federal Code, Title 8, Section 4 deals with respect for the flag, obviously Obama could care less about mundane stuff like this:
TITLE 4–FLAG AND SEAL, SEAT OF GOVERNMENT, AND THE STATES
CHAPTER 1–THE FLAG
Sec. 8. Respect for flag
No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor.
(a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.
(b) The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise.
(c) The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and free.
(d) The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. Bunting of blue, white, and red, always
arranged with the blue above, the white in the middle, and the red below, should be used for covering a speaker’s desk, draping the front of the platform, and for decoration in general.
(e) The flag should never be fastened, displayed, used, or stored in such a manner as to permit it to be easily torn, soiled, or damaged in any way.
(f) The flag should never be used as a covering for a ceiling.
(g) The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature.
(h) The flag should never be used as a receptacle for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything.
(i) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed
on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard. Advertising signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown.
(j) No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations.
The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the heart.
(k) The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.
At times like this, I have to wonder if the allegations that Obama actually still possesses Indonesian and Kenyan citizenship have any validity to them…

Yep, you heard it here first, folks!
Barack Obama was personally in charge of breaking down the set at Invesco Stadium.
He gathered all the set tear-down workers together around him, and he spoke to them through a bullhorn, and said “LOYAL SUBJECT, HEAR ME NOW! I DO PROCLAIM THAT THESE 12,000 FLAGS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AS A SYMBOL OF THIS SOVEREIGN NATION, WHICH I DO HATE AND WISH TO DESTROY, ARE AN ABOMINATION!!! THEREFORE, I COMMAND YOU, MY LOYAL SUBJECTS, TO TAKE UP THESE ABOMINATIONS, AND GO FORTH AND RENDER THEM UNTO THE GARBAGE, WHERE THEY RIGHTLY BELONG! MAY ALLAH CURSE AMERICA FOREVERMORE!!!”
Nice hit job, PUMA! Marching right in lock-step with your masters at McCain headquarters. I wonder if Rick Davis personally posted this piece.
And remember, patriots, it’s not the ISSUES that matter in this election! It’s things much more important than that, like Who’s The Biggest Patriot!!!! And Who Can Have The Largest American Flag on a Giant Monitor Behind Them at Their Convention?!
McCain’s got all Obama’s flags!!! And he’s gonna pull ‘em out of garbage bags and WAVE ‘em!!! OOOOOH!!! Take that!!!!!
You know, it reminds me of my visit years ago to the former USSR where politicians and their cronies were far more interested in flags than people. So if McCain wants to rescue flags - great! Obama will rescue people.
Under the federal code, letter d, the flag should never be used as wearing apparel. I wonder if that includes lapel pins.
Frederick Douglas on Patriotism:
A True Patriot is a lover of his country, who rebukes and does not excuse its sins”.
I think i hit a nerve for you to delete mt post. Not all opinion welcome?
A little insight into Obama’s character from a Chicago Times article in 2006…..
The popular Obama, who had carved out apolitical territory in his first year, was named the Democratic lead on the ethics crackdown.
McCain has spent years working on ridding the system of special-interest cash. McCain invited Obama to be part of his bipartisan “working group.”
Last week, after the first meeting of the group, Obama sent McCain a letter — released to reporters — that implied McCain was trying to slow down the legislative process.
Obama’s letter incorrectly said that McCain was “interested” in creating a task force to deal with ethics and lobbying reform rather than going through the regular committee structure.
There is a line from the movie ” Pulp Fiction” that goes like this…
” Just because you are a character does not mean that you have character.”
Remember the Time photo from Iowa during primary season? The one with The Obamassiah on a platform with Hillary and Bill Richardson. The one showing everyone with their hand over their heart during the National Anthem…everyone except The Obamassiah.

Sorry, missed a character on the Time magazine URL. Here it is.

so what do you notice about this picture? the flags that were considered trash are nicely rolled up. i don’t know about you but i tend not to tidy up my trash before i put it in the trash.
“At times like this, I have to wonder if the allegations that Obama actually still possesses Indonesian and Kenyan citizenship have any validity to them…”
did you know mccain was born in germany and obama was born in the us? so based on this factless argument if you are born in another country, visit another country, or spend time in another country then you are a citizen of that foreign country. do you really believe this?
check out factcheck.org…it would help to discover the actual facts
sorry mccain was born in panama.
John McCain’s father was an admiral in the U.S. Navy who was stationed in Panama in 1936, when McCain was born. This has led to speculation as to whether McCain is a U.S. citizen and whether he can be elected president, a question that was raised during McCain’s run for the Republican nomination in 2000 as well.
Section 1, Article II of the U.S. Constitution states:
Article II: “No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.”
But McCain is a natural-born citizen, even though he was not born within this country’s borders, since his parents were citizens at the time of his birth. As a congressional act stated in 1790:
Congress: “And the children of citizens of the United States, that may be born beyond sea, or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born citizens.”
Another congressional act in 1795 issued a similar assurance, though it changed the language from “natural born citizen” to “citizen.”
The State Department clarifies the issue, stating that the 1790 language is honored under section 301(c) of the Immigration and Nationality Act.
This was under Factcheck.org
We checked the accuracy of Obama’s speech accepting the Democratic nomination, and noted the following:
Obama said he could “pay for every dime” of his spending and tax cut proposals “by closing corporate loopholes and tax havens.” That’s wrong – his proposed tax increases on upper-income individuals are key components of paying for his program, as well. And his plan, like McCain’s, would leave the U.S. facing big budget deficits, according to independent experts.
He twisted McCain’s words about Afghanistan, saying, “When John McCain said we could just ‘muddle through’ in Afghanistan, I argued for more resources.” Actually, McCain said in 2003 we “may” muddle through, and he recently also called for more troops there.
He said McCain would fail to lower taxes for 100 million Americans while his own plan would cut taxes for 95 percent of “working” families. But an independent analysis puts the number who would see no benefit from McCain’s plan at 66 million and finds that Obama’s plan would benefit 81 percent of all households when retirees and those without children are figured in.
Obama asked why McCain would “define middle-class as someone making under five million dollars a year”? Actually, McCain meant that comment as a joke, getting a laugh and following up by saying, “But seriously …”
Obama noted that McCain’s health care plan would “tax people’s benefits” but didn’t say that it also would provide up to a $5,000 tax credit for families.
He said McCain, far from being a maverick who’s “broken with his party,” has voted to support Bush policies 90 percent of the time. True enough, but by the same measure Obama has voted with fellow Democrats in the Senate 97 percent of the time.
Obama said “average family income” went down $2,000 under Bush, which isn’t correct. An aide said he was really talking only about “working” families and not retired couples. And – math teachers, please note – he meant median (or midpoint) and not really the mean or average. Median family income actually has inched up slightly under Bush.
good job sparky. all these things are correct. and what did mccain get wrong in his speech? did you also check out obama’s birth certificate?
just in case you missed this too. but more detail if you go to factcheck.
McCain claimed that Obama’s health care plan would “force small businesses to cut jobs” and would put “a bureaucrat … between you and your doctor.” In fact, the plan exempts small businesses, and those who have insurance now could keep the coverage they have.
McCain attacked Obama for voting for “corporate welfare” for oil companies. In fact, the bill Obama voted for raised taxes on oil companies by $300 million over 11 years while providing $5.8 billion in subsidies for renewable energy, energy efficiency and alternative fuels.
McCain said oil imports send “$700 billion a year to countries that don’t like us very much.” But the U.S. is on track to import a total of only $536 billion worth of oil at current prices, and close to a third of that comes from Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom.
He promised to increase use of “wind, tide [and] solar” energy, though his actual energy plan contains no new money for renewable energy. He has said elsewhere that renewable sources won’t produce as much as people think.
He called for “reducing government spending and getting rid of failed programs,” but as in the past failed to cite a single program that he would eliminate or reduce.
He said Obama would “close” markets to trade. In fact, Obama, though he once said he wanted to “renegotiate” the North American Free Trade Agreement, now says he simply wants to try to strengthen environmental and labor provisions in it.
GOP spin
* Lieberman said Obama hadn’t “reached across party lines” to accomplish “anything significant,” though Obama has teamed with GOP Sens. Tom Coburn and Richard Lugar to pass laws enhancing government transparency and curtailing the proliferation of nuclear and conventional weapons.
* Thompson repeated misleading claims about Obama’s tax program, saying it would bring “one of the largest tax increases in American history.” But as increases go, Obama’s package is hardly a history-maker. It would raise taxes for families with incomes above $250,000. Most people would see a cut.
* Lieberman also accused Obama of “voting to cut off funding for our American troops on the battlefield.” But Obama’s only vote against a war-funding bill came after Bush vetoed a version of the bill Obama had supported – and McCain urged the veto.
* Palin may have said “Thanks, but no thanks” on the Bridge to Nowhere, though not until Congress had pretty much killed it already. But that was a sharp turnaround from the position she took during her gubernatorial campaign, and the town where she was mayor received lots of earmarks during her tenure.
* Palin’s accusation that Obama hasn’t authored “a single major law or even a reform” in the U.S. Senate or the Illinois Senate is simply not a fair assessment. Obama has helped push through major ethics reforms in both bodies, for example.
* The Alaska governor avoided some of McCain’s false claims about Obama’s tax program – but her attacks still failed to give the whole story.
* Giuliani distorted the time line and substance of Obama’s statements about the conflict between Russia and Georgia. In fact, there was much less difference between his statements and those of McCain than Giuliani would have had us believe.
* Giuliani also said McCain had been a fighter pilot. Actually, McCain’s plane was the A-4 Skyhawk, a small bomber. It was the only plane he trained in or flew in combat, according to McCain’s own memoir.
* Finally, Huckabee told conventioneers and TV viewers that Palin got more votes when she ran for mayor of Wasilla than Biden did running for president. Not even close. The tally: Biden, 79,754, despite withdrawing from the race after the Iowa caucuses. Palin, 909 in her 1999 race, 651 in 1996.
Facts about Obama
1. Obama’s “community organizer ” activist group in Chicago was ACORN. ACORN is a Far Left organization with has been found guilty of voter fraud in various cities in the US.
2. Obama on the Board of the Chicago Anneburg Challenge, a non-profit organization in which Bill Ayers was instrumental in forming. The same Bill Ayers of the Weathermen Underground terrorist group. Obama and Ayers were present during several meetings between 1996-2001.
3. Obama and Ayers served together for three years on the board of the Woods Fund of Chicago. Laura S. Washington, chairwoman of the Woods Fund, said the small board had a collegial “friendly but businesslike” atmosphere, and met four times a year for a half-day, mostly to approve grants.
4. Obama’s known connection to Tony Resko who is known to be a housing slum lord and convicted on several counts of fraud and bribery. However, the connection between the two Chicagoans was “all but ignored by the news media, other than Fox” until it was raised in a Hillary / Obama presidential debate .
5. Obama’s known relationship with Kwame Kilpatrick. The mayor of the nation’s 11th largest city, Detroit, Kwame Kilpatrick pleaded guilty to a pair of felony obstruction charges and will step down after months of defiantly holding onto his job based on encouragement of people like Barack Obama.
I am an Independent and was on the fence up to 2 weeks ago. After realizing a definite lack of info regarding the candidates on the TV media, I started doing research on the web. Lot’s of garbage on blogs that I do not pay any mind to. But the items listed above are facts and have caused be to believe that Obama is NOT the way.
For all of you who believe “it was fair and square” but are willing to consider evidence to the contrary, please listen to the NO WE WON’T Blog Talk Radio shows
for Sept 6th and 7th. Make sure you watch the video ‘We Will Nor Be Silenced’ about what went on at the caucuses. I agree with all of you who understand the importance of this election. It would be lovely to be able to believe in our (Democrat’s) nominee; I certainly think we owe the planet an apology for 8 years of Bush but not at the cost of democracy. Please write back after you listen.
