This Can’t Be Good For the Community Organizer…

2 Things that caught my attention this morning:
Rasmussen puts Obama @ 46% and McCain @ 45%, which is a statistical dead heat, this is despite the fact that Obama was +5 earlier this week…
Second thing is:
According to TV Week, John McCain’s simple, yet elegant acceptance speech drew more viewers that the Arrival of Zeus @ the Barakopolis last week.
Across all broadcast networks Thursday, Sen. McCain’s speech ended the night with a 4.8 rating/7 share, compared to Sen. Obama’s 4.3/7 average, according to overnight numbers from metered households in 55 U.S. markets measured by Nielsen.
Maybe I am too politically naive, but it seems rather strange that despite all the insults and ignorant McBush statements, despite all the mass hysteria and promises of the second coming, despite all the plugs by Oprah, and the record-braking fund-raisers, Obama is still in a dead heat with the team Obama Democrats love to hate: McCain/Palin.
Anyway, I watched both Palin’s and McCain’s speeches in their entirety, a definite first in my life when it comes to to that kind of programming. I was actually moved to tears when I heard parts of John’s speech, not because he said he would heal the planet and lower ocean levels, but because it was evident that the love he has for this country is 100% genuine, and he wants to serve us not save us.
Incidentaly, I am still undecided on whether to vote for McCain/Palin / write Hillary in / or just skip the Presidential part of the ballot, but after last night, if I were to vote for McCain/Palin, I know I would be able to do it with a clear conscience.
Hmmm… maybe things would have been different if Hillary was on the ticket?

Statement of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton
Thursday, Sep 4, 2008
The two party conventions showcased vastly different directions for our country. Senator Obama and Senator Biden offered the new ideas and positive change America needs and deserves after eight years of failed Republican leadership. Senator McCain and Governor Palin do not.
After listening to all the speeches this week, I heard nothing that suggests the Republicans are ready to fix the economy for middle class families, provide quality affordable health care for all Americans, guarantee equal pay for equal work for women, restore our nation’s leadership in a complex world or tackle the myriad of challenges our country faces. So, to slightly amend my comments from Denver: NO WAY, NO HOW, NO McCAIN-PALIN.
It could also mean that GOP decided not to watch Obama’s Speech, Dems and indy’s are smart enough to view all sides of thinks and the decide. I’m for Obama and i watched McCain. He made me cling to Obama even more. Most people are talking about how make didn’t help them at all with his speech. Alot of people left empty handed after McCain’s Speech. He Should keep giving more. No Way No How No McCain/Palin lol. Thanks Hillary
i watched both speeches. i’m for obama but i wanted to know what mccain had to offer as well. earlier this year i considered voting for mccain. but last night i couldn’t understand how mccain was going to change washington all of a sudden. hasn’t he been there for over 20 years? wasn’t he always working to change washington? and he glazed over what exactly he planned on doing. very generalized statements with nothing specific.
