Alaska Maverick…
September 3, 2008 by PUMA Pundit
Unlike Obama’s case where the mentor is at the bottom of the ticket, McCain actually got it right by being the mentor at the top of the Ticket.
Anyway, here’s a new ad from McCain/Palin, titled “Alaska Maverick”

Posted by AD76

If McBush is a mentor, we’ll all in trouble. Mentoring in what? Citing Czechoslovakia as a nation in 2008 (a little late, Sen.)? Maybe in swearing on the Senate floor at other Senators? Not knowing the difference between Sunni and Shiite? Maybe in declaring the economy is in progress and doing well? Yeah, some mentor! Oh - and don’t you love McCain’s latest move - paying to have a poll taken on his ticket’s popularity …. wait for it ….. in ALASKA! How pathetic!
Renshaw, at least he knows how many states the United States of America has. OH and the answer is not 57.
Hey Sparky…I’ve read several of your posts now….do you have anything relevant to say? Do you care at all about the issues candidates stand for? It appears all you want to do is continue the slander battle and cry about Hillary not being the candidate.
Why don’t you explain to me exactly what Obama has to offer except for the word Change. You can only say the word so much before it begins to lose it’s meaning.
Okay, Obama offers us a president that has intelligence. It seems that’s one quality overlooked by most. Speaking as a professor, I can tell you that I’m getting sick and tired of all the swipes at Obama for being a professor of constitutional law. Maybe, just maybe, it would be nice to have a president who doesn’t refer to the constitution as “just a goddam piece of paper” as George W. Bush did. You see, Obama brings with him the ability to speak in complete sentences. And, frankly, that’s a good start. You seem to want to swipe at Obama for the 57 state gaffe. Yes, he made it. Yes, he’d be the first to admit it and laugh about it. What he won’t do is embarrass this country in the eyes of the world as the GOP has.
Look at what has happened! Sarah Palin is dragged out of Alaska as the running mate, and already the McCain ticket has to make one statement after another regarding her personal life, her job ethic, etc. It’s another disgrace. Frankly, I think the choice of Palin is great for the chances of the Democrats.
Obama brings with him a resume of community organizing (yes, that is not as easy as it may sound), teaching, writing, being elected to the Senate (not as easy as it sounds, try it Sparky, you may understand what I’m talking about), and the ability to garner millions of people to support him, to listen, and to deliver.
John McBush, I mean, McCain keeps hauling out the POW stuff for almost every single quality flaw. Funny, how more vets and active duty men are supporting Obama. Funny that when all the presidential candidates are held up in a poll (all the third party candidates), Obama beats McCain in a a landslide.
Sparky, admit now. This whole site is being run by the big old fat elephants themselves - the Republicans. You’re running scared after seeing what the Democrats did at their convention. Just admit, close the site down and move on.
Saw what at the convention, big pillars, the messiah being brought up. Obama is “the chosen one” for the DNC. Hillary has more qualifications then just his 145 days in office. How many times did he vote, or did he just basically note “present”. As with all professors, you lean dangerously too far out to the left and do not represnet a moderate view.
I’m sure he did a swell job as a community leader, perhaps he learned great negoiating skills with other foreign countries that are threateng our very democracy.
Let’s start with his reply by going to hte United Nations to provide sanctinos against Russia, oh that’s right Russia has a VETO power in the UN. Absolutely brilliant.
Hillary answering the phone at 3 am - absolutely yes. Obama, please he may want to start deferring to his celebrity friends for advice, since they are so knowledgeable. Or better yet, how about Joe Biden, because we all now how honest an reliable he is.
You seriously have no leg to stand on, but if you continue to drink the kool-aid and your little tummy is full, you will feel safe can content. All will be right in the world in Obama land.
Oh and a final thought, if I were Obama, I wouldn’t be laughing at his gaff of 57 states, I would be cringing.
Sparky:
First sentence in comment #6 should end with a question mark. In the second sentence, the word “then” should be “than”. In the fourth sentence, the word is “represent” and not “represnet”. Further on, “negotiating” is spelled as I just spelled it. The definite article “the” is not spelled “teh” and “sanctions” is not spelled “sanctinos”. The conjunction “and” is not interchangeable with the indefinite article “an”. Your second to the last sentence makes no sense. What does the phrase “you will feel safe can content” mean?
I bring up your typographical errors, grammatical mistakes and misspelled words to point to the fact that the educational level of this country has gone so far down in quality, that it is truly scary. People honor swagger, bluster and mediocrity. We have lowered the standards of education to simply get people through.
George W. Bush is a fine example of this. So is John McCain. McCain graduated at the very bottom of his class in Annapolis. If his father had not been an admiral, he would have been expelled. Palin has a B.S. degree in Communication/Journalism. This is not the educational background needed for the second highest office in the country. Moreover, it is vital to our country to have a qualified Vice-President in this age of terrorism, potential assassination, etc.
Republicans are not the only ones who honor idiocy. There are plenty of Democrats who do the same. Bill Clinton’s personal actions distracted the country for far too long. John Kerry is not a genius. Our standards of leadership have moved from the qualifications of statesmanship to whether or not the voter “feels comfortable” with the candidate or “can relate” to the candidate. People spoke out proudly that they voted for Bush because they “felt” they could have a beer with him and voted against Kerry because, as one Ohio voter put it: “he uses big words I don’t understand.” When it comes to the leader of the free world, I prefer to choose the one who can use “big words.”
In your post, you put down academics as “lean[ing] dangerously too far out to the left and do not represent a moderate view”. Is that somehow a negative? Is the moderate view always the correct view? If all politicians, public servants, and the populace of this country held to a “moderate” view, we would still have slavery, women would not be voting let alone running for office, and there would be no social security. Those things were either abolished or made possible because of people who lean dangerously to the left.
In pre-World War II Germany, academics were blamed for much, arrested, tortured and killed. Maybe this is the fantasy of every student who struggled in school and blamed their lack of skill on their teachers rather than take responsibility for their own actions or lack thereof. Your comment borders on that mindset.
Further, it is indicative of the current state of this union. Education has become a commodity to purchase if not “edu-tainment”. Countries like China, India, and Pakistan have a populace far more educated and capable. If we are not proactive, we will be in a very dangerous place with regards our economy, social structure, etc. The illiteracy rate of Americans grows as it diminishes in other countries in the world; countries that are growing more powerful each and every day.
Why is this important? Obama may have made a verbal gaffe regarding the number states, but McCain referred to a non-existent country (Czechoslovakia) three times. He was corrected after the first time but continued to refer to it. He has no idea of the difference between a Sunni and a Shiite Muslim. In the current state of the world, it is crucial that our president have a working knowledge of Islam. For God’s sake, the man had no idea how many houses or dwellings he owns. This does not bode well for his ability to think under pressure and to respond with some kind of lucidity.
Of course, I am just in the minority. I expect people to speak their native language intelligently. I expect the president of my nation to be qualified to be there. I will take a person who can read, write, and speak intelligently over someone whose only claim to the presidency seems to be his time spent as a POW some thirty to forty years ago.
Sparky, you can bring up all the talking points that you want. In the end, we need competence and intelligence in the White House and not beauty queens and/or confused old men.
There is no edit function on this website. The sentence should read “regarding the number of states,”.
Thank you.
So go tell Obama to promise the ERA, so what happened to Hillary will be a hate crime just like a noose or Fred Phelps “God Hates Fags” signs at Matthew Shepard’s funeral .
It is sexist for women to vote for a woman simply because she is a woman.. Which is quite obvious what many American women are planning to do…
Just as it is racist for an African American to vote for Barrack because they are the same colour…
If you are a women who previously supported Hillary and now support McCain/Palin you are either sexist or racist… Let me explain why…
Clinton and Obama are almost identical with their political agendas, while McCain/Palin offer very different policies than Hillary.. If you want what Hillary was offering then vote Obama… Its a no brainer!!
If you switched from a Clinton supporter to McCain then you are simply doing so because you don’t like Obamas race or are voting for Palins gender..Which is quite frankly pathetic
Race, gender and religon should not even be a factor when you decide to vote, you really need to listen to the policies on offer and vote what is best for you!!!
Seriously McCain is blatently insulting your intelligence by picking Palin as his running mate, while Obama is counting on your intelligence to listen to the policies offered.. Unfortunately for the rest of the world looks like Americans are stupid and will vote for another pair of thugs to be run the worlds lone super power for at another 4 years…
I was going to vote for John McCain because I was upset about Hillary losing, but I feel like he has spit in my face! Palin is the polar opposite of Hillary. With the type of right wing judges they would appoint on the supreme court, we can kiss the ERA goodbye for another 25-50 years. I really wanted Hillary to win and be the first woman president, but after her and Bill’s strong endorsements for Obama I will be voting for Obama too. I will not be USED like John McCain thinks he can do just because he picked a woman. Sara Palin, you are no HILLARY, you are a hypocrite. You called her a whiner in the primary and then praised her to steal my vote, I am not stupid. No Way, No How, No McSame.
